I can see Carr on the Jets, average QB on an average team
Exactly he would be perfectly average with them.

But this is why I always criticize coaching. When DA said we were going to run the same offense we have been running for the past 16 season, I knew we were screwed because we didn't run the same offense. We pretty much had the pieces for a 2008-2014 Saints offense; QB who can hit the intermediate/deep routes with ease, possession receivers, vertical deep threat(s), athletic TE, and versatile RB (although I admit that we fumbled the bag as it relates to the RB room). What we ended up rolling out what a rehash of what an end of his career Brees would run. If they couldn't recognize that, I don't know how they think that they can recapture what Pete did in 2012. Crap, we used motion, screens, and crazy formations (yall remember 3 RBs in the backfield). We didn't see anything similar this season..It's hard to know what we have with Pete. One really good season with a good roster, and a bad season with a bad roster. I was on the fire Pete train, but I understand keeping him after thinking about it. The belief must be that Pete can get back to the 2012 offense if they get the right pieces. And if they do, that should be fun to watch with DA's defense.
Yea I mean you aren’t wrong there, it’s just a weird take the Jets are some awful team. They were like #4 scoring defense* and you have G. Wilson, Breece Hall and Elijah Moore as offensive weapons. But the thing with the Jets is that there is so much more.
The ownership isn’t that much better than the Raiders. They’re in a tough division and once you get out of the East, you gotta deal with Mahomes and Burrow.
It’s just the perception surrounding the franchise. They’ve been so bad for so long, except for two Rex Ryan years. Heck, they’ve only been able their division twice in the past 53 years.Yea I mean you aren’t wrong there, it’s just a weird take the Jets are some awful team. His last deal was basically four years $140m with $25m guaranteed. He only got paid the $25m, and didn’t get a penny from a single year of his three-year extension. He should though. Good chance he wins the division, probably the first 2 seasons, if he picks the Saints but he won’t if he goes to the Jets. They’ll realise he’s never getting them out of the AFC and move on within 2-3 years.
But yeah it’s always about money. If he has any sense, he’ll be using the Jets to squeeze more out of the Saints.
Question:
Does anyone believe Carr will get a fully guaranteed $$ deal??
That is what happened in the Deshaun situation one team decided to put it all in. If Carr visits another team after the Jets it might get crazy.
Few are as desperate as we are. We tried to trade the house for a serial predator and failedCarr could get a Cousins-type contract with 100M fully guaranteed for 3years from a desperate team.
From finishing 3rd in their division?Jets are a QB away
And so are we. And without snow.I told everyone he was going to the Jets, they are his best chance of winning and getting paid. If that team had Carr last year they are a 10 win team.
Herm Edwards: Derek Carr threw 28 INTs the last two season. Can you imagine him dealing with the NY media after throwing his interceptions? Yeah, he needs to go to New Orleans.
Thanks, but no thanks Herm!
