Discontinued/Unavailable Foods that you miss (1 Viewer)

Many years ago there was a chicken chain named Ms. Weiners (I think that was the name) and they had a chicken bscuit that was out of this world.

Other than that, I miss Mr. Cooks and Burger Tyme. I can not think of anything else that I liked that has become unavailable. Oh yeah, the fried liver at Chef's Fried Chicken.

Where was Ms. Winners?

If you need livers, try Fat Albert's on Moss.

That, franken berry and count chocula are still made and sold around halloween.

I used to love, like an unhealthy love, Count Chocula. That stuff was addicting and I can still taste it in my mind. Which is funny because I haven't eaten it in about 30 years.

I could go through a can of those in 1 sitting.

No idea how these are, but at $8 a barrel, I may have to place an order.

Damn. Halloween is to far away.

Funny storry... Or maybe not. I'll tell you anyway.

My kid wound up absolutely loving all 3... So, I checked the expiration date with the intention of stocking up for a few months, and for a cereal that comes out around September, the fact that it'd last until the following July made me both uneasy, and pleased...

Pleased because when the boy was just 3-4 years old, he actually put all three cereals on his Christmas list.

Who am I to say what he should/shouldn't ask for from Santa... So I'm walking through Target one day in mid-November, and all three flavors are on clearance for something like $.98/box.

So I bought about 4 of each... It was THE most wonderful time of the year!

Seriously... Funny stuff seeing a 4 year old excited to see boxes of his favorite cereal among the toys & whatnot.

I see them for sale at some of the stores here. $8 is about right. I haven't bought one in a while because we've been trying to eat healthier snacks lately.

That said, they taste amazing. Once I start poppin' those, I can't stop.

According to former Mars executive Alfred Poe, PB Max was discontinued due to the Mars family's distaste for peanut butter, despite $50 million in sales.[6] wikipedia

This is true. The Mars family grew up in Britain where peanut butter is nowhere near as popular as it is here. They prefer hazelnut. For the longest time Mars didn;t use peanut butter in anything.

This is from the book Emperors of Chocolate, history of Hershey and Mars but candy industry in general. Great book, I read it like a novel.

They still make those. Every time I go by the ice cream cooler in a store I always make fun of how the people on the Blue Bell novelty boxes look like pedophiles, psychopaths, and general cretins. In fact, just last week I was pointing out how that very guy looked like he was threatening to murder someone's family.

Not as far as I know. Blue Bell does make this:

, but they are 110 calories. However, the same pedophile still shills the product.

completely random, but when i was about 14 in 1988, my mom had someone talk her into buying a couple thousand dollars worth of stock in Clearly Canadian in my name.. we were living in Florida at the time and it had just come out.. i have no idea if it's still made, and i'm guessing the stock's not worth much-- but id love to find out.

Well, Clearly Canadian will be back on the shelves beginning in March. And Astopop has been revitalized.

Reviving brands that aren

Washington: Twenty-five years ago, a new kind of sparkling water called Clearly Canadian hit store shelves. In flavours such as Orchard Peach and Western Loganberry, the drink soon was raking in $150 million a year in sales. But when faced by growing competition, Clearly Canadian began to fade.

By the early 2000s it had all but disappeared. Enter Mark Thomann.
Early last year, the Chicago investor bought the Clearly Canadian name, hired a marketing team, contracted a bottler and hammered out a distribution deal to get the drinks back into US supermarkets starting in March. Thomann is making a bet that enough people remember Clearly Canadian to try it again. He’s one of a growing group of entrepreneurs who specialise in digging through the graveyard of consumerism in search of zombie brands that can be revived.

“We believe we can make Clearly Canadian valuable again,” said Thomann, chief executive of River West Brands, whose stable of resuscitated brands includes Coleco games and Underalls pantyhose.

Spanish Omelet Bagel from McDonalds.

Not sure about availability everywhere, but several years ago they rolled out 3 types of breakfast bagels. The other two I didn't care for, but the Spanish Omelet Bagel was full of awesomeness. Then one day, just that one disappeared from the menu. I asked the lady at the drive thru why, and she said that they discontinued that one due to lack of sales. Funny, I know I did my part to keep it's sales up.

I know its all poison, but that was some good poison.

That must be it. They really need to expand their cast of criminals.

Don't fret. I'm sure it will be back some day. Like the McRib, they will eventually regurgit...I mean recycle it through the menu.

That's a shame. That's a real expensive dislike of peanut butter. I read that PB max had over 50 mil in sales in their only year. There is a facebook page you can join asking them to bring it back.
