Dolphin fans overreaction Monday: Refs (2 Viewers)

and the title of this thread is "Dolphin fan overreactions" LOL....

that Bess play was insignificant in the grand scheme of things.
I respectfully disagree. If the right call is made on that play, it forces 4th down and a punt which puts the Saints back on the field around the 35-40 yard line. Instead the 'phins put up another 25 yards or so, punted and pinned the Saints inside their 5. Payton's playcalling is trying to get them out of their endzone, Brees throws a pick because he's pressing to get the team moving, and it sets up a 1 play TD drive. That sequence doesn't happen if the Saints start that drive at the 40.

Somebody said something on the internet oh noesssss

Sounds a lot like the Giants' board last week after their loss. :smilielol:

1. I don't know if Sharper scored or not.

2. The clock would have stopped on the pass to Colston no matter what. It stops to move the chains. The Saints would have had time to either kick a field goal or run a play.

3. You can't fumble out of bounds to stop the clock. That's a penalty too; so it's either an illegal forward pass or an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty. The result is essentially the same--maybe even worse.

4. This is just stupid. It had no bearing on the final result anyway.

5. He wasn't down...the ball was coming out already and that is the rule.

Um, replay machine broken >>>>>>>>>>>>> all your silly excuses.

Right. Thats what I thought. I mean, a ref can literally pull that excuse whenever you want to. And none of the fans have any way to find out. You wanna talk about rigging games, point shavin, etc..... Seriously....if you dont want the call right, just say the replay machine is broken. So yea...cry me a river, Dolphin fan.

ahh yes.... the Monday mornings of losers.... Seems I remember those days..............

The clock only stops to move the chains in college.

The NFL needs to put in a 10 second run off for situations like the one that happened right before the half. The Saints were out of timeouts and if the correct call is made on the field there is no way they get down there to spike the ball or run a play. Instead the clock is stopped and they get to run another play. They should have to either use a TO, which they did not have, or there should be a run off.

And this is something else I don't get. This is the first time I've ever heard someone even PROPOSE this. There should be a 10 second runoff if there is an Official Booth Review inside of 2 minutes? Why? The only thing I can come up with is because if it were the case, the Saints wouldn't have scored. Wrong calls are made all the time, that's the point of a challenge. That play happened near the middle of the field, Refs have a hard job calling that in real time. They got it right eventually, they should be blaming their coach for the TO call.

what a excuse the refs didnt help us,the game of football is 4 quarters we just dominated them in the 2nd half those guys are cry babies........refs: ummmmm we are able to review this play challenge because ummmm our monitors arent working sorry saints

We were gonna kick the FG at the end of the half because the clock was going to start anyway. They act like the clock was stopped like it was a time out. The only reason we went for the TD is because their coach called a time out. Blame Sparano for that one not the refs.

1. Me either, which tells me the replay review was correct -- there was not incontrovertible visual evidence to overturn it.

2. Obviously the play was close enough to be reviewed and therefore the clock has to be stopped. What else is there to say?

3. I agree -- I thought the call was going to be a 15 yard unsporstmanship, maybe even a running off of time. IDK though.

4. yeah, right fins, the fix was in -- cheating out of those last seconds down two scores.

5. wait, what are theybtalking about?

sharper was close....if it was a proper angle it might have been overturned but no conclusive. this is a wash given the obvious drop bess was awarded in the first quarter....

and btw the clock doesn't stop in the nfl for the chains ot move....that's college my friend. the reason the clock was stopped was b/c it was called a TD.....then booth reviewed. and then it was announced the ball was going to be spotted and the clock would start thereafter.....the saints were ready for a fg but bailed out by a TO...the onus of that goes on the dolphins....

don't know about fumbling out of bounds but i do know its usually brought back to the point of the fumble if its forward.....didn't know it was a penalty but i guess he was deemed to have purposefully chucked it out of bounds forward.

you can copy and paste this after every week.

the only one I had an issue with was the Colston catch at the end of the half. they get it right.....then we go to the half at 24-3.

IIRC the clock would've started as soon as the ball was made ready to play but Miami called a TO. So even with a review, it's partly Sparano's fault.

And they could've just as easily ruled it a fumble by Colston and a fumble recovery in the endzone for a TD, which I believe is what happened to Dante Rosario (TE for Carolina) a few weeks ago. At least you had the opportunity to stop it.
