Draft Jaxson Dart Ole Miss (1 Viewer)

the next two years you invest in both lines. Build some continuity along the front. People may not like it but you let Carr, Rattler or Haener lead the way and be middle/low end of the pack. You invest majority of your money in the rest of the team and strike it with the best option at qb in the 26/27 draft. It wont be easy on the fan base, but you have to get out from under our current cap bill. Build the team first before worrying about a qb. Honestly I wouldnt even look at QB till 27. Unless you have a shot at a sure fire #1 or #2 pick in 26. 2025 remove qb from your wish list.
I can go with this. I'm not as down on Carr as most are. If you remember part of the discussion after the first two games was how many drives he led scoring. At the least this means he can carry us through this rough period. I'm all for getting out from under the cap and having some real flexibility.

Guys what do yall think about the Saints going after Jackson Dart he is a senior all time leading passer at ole Miss just passed Eli every year he has improved I think he would be a great pick up in the draft ??
I’m all for picking a qb. Dart looked good and the most successful qb we’ve drafted is from Ole Miss.

Did you also see how many throws his missed against LSU? The int he threw in the end zone, the receiver was wide open. He also had the TE wide open in the flat. He’s a great college QB, but he is not anywhere close to a 1st round QB.
That describes every Ole Miss QB since Eil. They’ve had some great college QBs.

Already giving up on Rattler? I think Rattler and Haener still need their fair shot with a better offensive line and WRs before I think drafting another QB. Carr isn't the answer, but he at least provides a buffer until Rattler or Haener is ruled a bust.
We can fast forward into the future. Haenar ain't it and Rattler needs another 2 years. We should trade the #1 overall pick for more picks and draft Sheduer Sanders. If you stick with Carr then you draft Travis Hunter.

And the most successful QB we have ever had went to Purdue so I say we draft whoever the Purdue QB is.

There is no such thing as a sure fire qb. Look at the tangibles and take a shot.

If you just want to take a shot at guys with talent who are raw and need to be developed then you take Ward or Milroe. Both have more talent than Dart.

I honestly think Ward might be a guy taking a shot at even if you have to trade up a bit to get him. He's far from ready for the NFL, but we are in rebuild mode so you might as well YOLO on a young QB with huge upside. And if he doesn't work out, maybe Rattler will.

Please no to Sanders. I think we should pass on QB this year. Class is weak. Tank next season.

As an Ole Miss fan, only if it's a late round flyer. Like rattler. He just is off this year. Not nearly the player he was last year. I don't know if he's hurt or if it's something else but his passes have not been nearly as accurate this year.

Please explain why? I getting really sick of people hating on this kid for no reason. He is on a winning football team, great deep ball, 73.3 completion percentage, and plays behind the worse OL in college football. I really don't get it; he is a first-round quarterback and would bring excitement to the team.

Jaxson could be a good NFL qb, but he's not going to come in immediately and change things. He has steadily improved at Ole Miss. He's not the interception waiting to happen that Corral was, but he locks in on his first read too hard. If he doesn't like that read, it takes him longer than it should to process it and throw to the check down. You all saw that in the LSU game. He was sacked over and over, not because he was pressured quickly, it was mainly from him holding onto the ball too long. Now, I would rather that than to throw a pick, but still. He is mobile, I think he will run in the 4.6-7 range, he has a strong arm and can make all the throws and his deep ball is really good. You saw that this past weekend in Fayetteville. I think he's a guy that be be like Jordan Love, sit and learn for a couple years and then come in seasoned and be a good player. As much as I like him, he's not our answer.

We need a franchise guy. I made a post a few years ago talking about how all the playoff teams now have these young dynamic guys that they drafted. Mahommes, Herbert, Allen, Hurts, Tua, Lawrence and the list goes on. Those are the teams that are going to be good going forward. We hit gold with Drew, I don't think that can be replicated and we haven't drafted a first rounder since Archie. The bad thing is, I just don't see that guy in this year's draft. Ward is all over the place, I think he gets by on arm strength alone and he plays really inferior competition. You put him in the SEC and I don't see the same success. The only qb worth a high pick to me right now is Rourke out of Indiana and he's a mid rounder like Pickett.
