Kirk Cousins is a good, top 10, above-average QB who will have a very good offense in Atlanta like he did in Minnesota as well as Washington, but he's also coming back and rehabbing a pretty severe MCL ankle injury (?) and he'll be 35 years old next season. He's only got maybe 1 or 2 seasons of close to Pro-Bowl caliber type play in him. He's a good "start-up" QB until a better, more successful option comes along similar to how he viewed Drew Bledsoe when he first became Patriots HC in 2000. Now, if BB could somehow land another Jared Goff, Josh Allen-esque QBs, Atlanta might be a contender for a long time. I don't think he'll get or has the draft capital to acquire Caleb Williams or frankly Jayden Daniels. It takes a whole sheetload of trades of picks and players just to rise from #8 overall to #4-5, God forbid #2 or #3 and Chicago will demand an entire royal family's ransom to even consider discussions of trading their #1 overall pick in this year's upcoming draft. The problem is Atlanta is very talented and was just missing a coach and a QB. They could solve both of those by hiring Belichick, drafting a QB and/or signing a dude like Kirk Cousins. However I will say he is getting up in age and will be 72 at the start of the season which might save us.

If I was the Bears GM, I would make it abundantly clear to any and all teams GM's I will demand and expect immense compensation for anyone who dares, EVEN WISHES to sit at my table and talk business about trading up for our #1 pick over the next few months, much less Draft Day.
Don't be surprised if Josh McDaniels ends up on this staff again. He's a failed head coach but he's a decent coordinator and Bill trusted him to run his offense. His leaving is a big turn of events leading to the Patriot demise. Mac Jones was a pro bowl QB under McDianiles his first year.Until he gets a good QB and OC I'm not scared of him.
This. Exactly this.Really not something to worry about. A DA led team shut out Belichick just 3 months ago. He might be able to coach a defense still but he doesn’t have a clue on offense without Brady and the Falcons have no QB.
Rather the Falcons go down this route than the possibility of Jim Harbaugh or a Ben Johnson type who could be there for 10+ years if he works out.
A senile BB is still more competent than anyone in our organization.I'm not scared of Bill. He's past his time. Unless there's another TB hidden somewhere on Atlanta's practice squad.
Breesus, one could reasonably argue that Blank had his best chance and well, Dan Quinn and his Falcons team blew it in 2016 in Super Bowl 51. They had a 28-3 lead late in the third quarter and then proceeded to collapse wholesale in a way not seen since Houston Oilers blew a 35-3 lead against Buffalo in the 1992 WC playoffs. By all accounts, Atlanta should've won that game but a series of terrible, idiotic in-game decisions even though Julio Jones tried his damnest to save the Falcons FROM THEMSELVES, the die had been cast and the choke was unavoidable. I still think Kyle Shanahan, despite all he's achieved and will achieve in S.F. has nightmares about that contest, 7 years later. Until he wins a SB of his own, he has to live with the 28-3 SB collapse. And so does Arthur Blank.Keep in mind, Blank's 81 years old. He wants a ring before he goes senile. I expect he's going to throw everything he's got chasing a ring the next five or so years.

I would say it’s more dire in Atlanta. That 28-3 blown lead killed what fanbase that franchise had. And they didn’t even have that much of a fanbase to begin with.Breesus, one could reasonably argue that Blank had his best chance and well, Dan Quinn and his Falcons team blew it in 2016 in Super Bowl 51. Atlanta, save for a playoff run the next year in 2017, which also ended in heart break fashion when Matt Ryan couldn't find Julio Jones 4 times in Philly's red zone for the winning TD, hasn't been the same since.
