N/S Falcons Have Second Interview With Bill Belichick (Now Likely To Be Falcons HC) (1 Viewer)

Will he switch to a 3-4? That may hurt their defense
He hasn’t run a 3-4 in years. He goes with whatever personnel he can get in the draft/FA. The Patriots ran a 3-4 base because only 3 teams were running it when they started. They switched to 4-3 when 3-4 got too popular.

It’s obligatory to say that Nickle is basically the base defense now, anyway.

I think Belicheck isn't going to Atlanta. I just don't think it is a good fit.
It really depends on what he’s looking for in his next opportunity.

The division is weak.

The Falcons have young talent.

The Falcons have cap space.

The Falcons owner is desperate to make necessary concessions to BB.

The Falcons have a decent draft pick.

These are all things that are going to be hard to top with other teams - unless the Chargers throw a bunch of money at him.

As if Atlanta isn't boring enough, bring in the most monotone guy in the country to put everyone to sleep for good.

I'm not scared of Bill. He's past his time. Unless there's another TB hidden somewhere on Atlanta's practice squad.
Same. He is good at taking away what a team likes to do on offense and forcing them to beat him in other ways, but how did we do last time we faced him with a franchise he has had control of for 2 decades?

After 28-3, this has to feel like if we hired Vinovich as a consultant to some of their fans.

Seems like Belicheck's best days are behind him. He is undoubtedly a GOAT candidate coach though

That being said - it would be pretty sweet to watch the Saints destroy them and send him into retirement

Really not something to worry about. A DA led team shut out Belichick just 3 months ago. He might be able to coach a defense still but he doesn’t have a clue on offense without Brady and the Falcons have no QB.

Rather the Falcons go down this route than the possibility of Jim Harbaugh or a Ben Johnson type who could be there for 10+ years if he works out.
Cousins wants to play for Bill

They were also without Judon and Gonzales.

Honestly, if he brings in JMD, it will be interesting. They already have pieces on both sides and some are already trying to push the Cousins to Atlanta narrative. It will be interesting.
