N/S Falcons Have Second Interview With Bill Belichick (Now Likely To Be Falcons HC) (2 Viewers)

Falcon fan here, We're not super hot on BB. We all know JH is the dream hire.

Yet, there are a few things. BB isn't washed up, he just needs to be boxed in.

This is how we're thinking about it. If BB can bring in a OC, and let the GM do his thing we should be ok. Vet QB or Rookie they both have their pros and cons. It will be on the OC to figure it out.

The ONLY things we like about BB are we'll get some of that Dan Reeves "been there done that, trust me" back in the building, our game prep will be solid, BB has a history of knowing how to scheme against an offense, and the defense will be top 10.

Outside of that he's not a draft wiz, he doesn't have that coordinator success tree of coordinators leaving to be great HCs, and his FA moves never panned out. Meaning he needs to stay away from anything GM related.

Is he an upgrade over AS? 100% yes he is. If BB was our coach this year he wouldn't have blundered down the stretch loosing a ton of winnable games. So, we'll take the hire but we're not like "OMG!!!! We're gonna ......." with it either. Now if we some how land JH ya'll in trouble :)

Followed by 8-9 and 4-13.
McDaniels left, and he thought we would run the offense. Bill is motivated to break the Shula's record and get his sons into coaching. I think he's past his prime, but he's better than we have currently. The South is the only NFC division that didn't have two playoff teams, yall better put some respect on his name and remember who our coach is.

He may be past his prime with all of the responsibilities he had in New England, but imagine him not having to do the GM parts, having an OC doing the offense work, going back to coaching the defense and being the stoic leader in that locker room with a LOT of skins on the wall. With less responsibilities, he could really do something for that team.

Did anyone say DA was better?

Exactly. And all these folks talk about "without Brady" missing that nearly every Patriots Super Bowl team had a top 10 defense (Top 5 a good chunk of years). Let them mess around and bring JMD down and get a stable vet at QB...lol. It won't be pretty.

Looks like McDaniels may be coming back with Bill when he’s hired by the Falcons

Is there such a thing as TOO much courtship? Feels like they’re having to do too much convincing. Sign the guy or move on already! 😂

The funny thing about this article and comparing with McDaniels and Brady only is Brady brought in elements of the New England system when the Bucs couldn't beat good teams in 2020 and 2021 was a complete overall from Arians traditional system. So in essence, Brady just went back to what he has done for 20 seasons. lol

I've read JMD's 2016 Patriots playbook. It's not for the weak of heart and it makes sense why QBs initially struggle, especially when they have never had to run concepts like that.

Right. Brady succeeded without him.

The article paints a pretty rough picture of McDaniels as an OC
