Films you have never seen that everyone thinks you should see. (1 Viewer)

Here are some of the films I have never seen, tell me why I should see them.

1. The Godfather franchise
2. The Rocky franchise
3. Rambo
4. Titanic
5. Tootsie

What are the ones you've never seen?

1. Long. Could have stopped after 1 or 2.

2. First one was slow but a nice story. The others were entertaining but are dated.

3. A lot like the Rocky stuff

4. Kate Winslet topless. After that?

5. Tootsie. I was too young for it I guess. It was like being at the dentist.

See, even where I think I have solitude from being told what I have to watch, I'm being told what I have to watch. :) Watching TV bores me. I started to watch Season 1 of "Curb Your Enthusiasm". I got 3 episodes in early last week and haven't watch it again yet. We have a group of friends and they all binge watch shows. When they start talking about what their watching, I just zone out because I have nothing to contribute. They think I'm weird for not watching anything. I may be weird but not for that reason.

Not weird. I know folks that choose to not have a TV at all. Different strokes for different folks.
GOT and BB are tied for the highest rated show in history.

I, too, have never seen a min of the Godafther movies.
My TV missed list features a ton of the big ones too; BB, the Wire, Sopranos, only made it thru 4 or so season of GoT. Just can't see everything.

What are the ones you've never seen?

1. First and second are a must
2. First one for sure. The last one I enjoyed as well
3. First one for sure. The one from 2008, while not a great movie, is interesting in that it brought attention to the atrocities being committed by the military regime in Burma. It was filmed right near the border and the production was shot at by the Burmese military. Furthermore, the KNLA rebellion actually used a line from the movie as a rallying cry
4. The boat sinks (old joke, but what more needs to be said?)
5. Good for at least a once through

Tootsie just hasn't stayed in the public consciousness like those others. I'm very curious if anyone here will make the pitch that you're really missing out with Tootsie. I'm thinking @guidomerkinsrules or @Mr. Blue Sky are the top candidates.

I feel both complimented and insulted at the same time.

i remember seeing Tootsie at the theater when i was really young, like 7 or 8, at the Lakeside Theater I believe, not to be confused with the Lakeside Cinemas... to me it was kinda like Terms of Endearment which i also saw at the theater around the same time, just lots of adult themes that were over my head.. for whatever reason, i don’t remember Geena Davis as much as I remember Jessica Lange, and to this day i have an unrequited crush on her.

i’ve tried rewatching Tootsie a couple of times in the last few years when I’ve seen it on the tv, but it just seems really dated and, even though critics seemed to love it back then, i dont really get the big deal.

I don't binge watch and I've missed lots of good TV shows or so I'm told. For example, the Office, Parks and Rec, Breaking Bad, Game of Thrones just to name a few.

We've binged some stuff, mostly comedic. Everybody Loves Raymond. Now we're doing Modern Family. The Crown (but the new cast made it jump the shark). The Handmaid's Tale. BSG (the newer one)

I have never binged The Office, but will watch if scanning channels. I have seen Parks & Recs, but no interest to binge.

BB we tried, got two episodes in and though "meh". GOT we watched the first two seasons and then went with "meh". Enjoyed the first two seasons of Ozark, but have not started season 3.

I don't know about TV much anymore. There are some things I have enjoyed, but nothing that just sticks out. I've, to a degree, become a writing snob. I am generally reading when the TV is on.

You have to stick with BB. First few episodes are meh.
The rest are holy +*%%%#%%^%^ !

just Geena Davis or is Bill Murray in his underwear too?

cause this is a deal breaker subject
Well as the sentence implies it could be that Bill Murray is in Geena Davis’s underwear
And you’ll just have to watch the movie to find out

lol I have seen it.
If you like Geena Davis in her underwear, there is a scene in Long Kiss Goodnight that even involves bondage
