Personally I’m against the billboard. I think it’s a little crass and even though I dislike DA as a head coach he is a human being with feelings and a family. There’s better ways to show your displeasure with the direction of the team. Like not going to games etc.

I’m not happy with where we are at and this last season was extremely disappointing and frustrating. They would play so poorly but then put it all together for a game or two like against Atl or NE. Yeah those teams are bad but good teams should dominate bad teams. It’s frustrating because you saw the potential. There’s talent here. I just don’t think DA really knows how to harness it.

Hence this billboard. Some people don't have self awareness, and DA is one of those.

I am a saints supporter, not a DA supporter. I am OK with firing him. I am also OK with him getting a 3rd year as that is a pretty standard approach. What I am not a supporter of is skewing facts to back my argument.
All I keep hearing is about context, yet this board is littered with out of context quotes, tweets, insider info about DA's coaching ability and why he has lost the team and shouldn't be the coach. If you don't want admit that anti-DA people are skewing facts, then there is no point to have this discussion. Don't sit there and lob accusations at other people for doing what you are doing yourself whenever a point is made that goes against your point of view.

My eyes don't skew facts. My eyes see the fact that DA is not a competent HC.

I don't like it either. A person can't complain about "cancel culture" and like that billboard without being hypocritical, because that billboard is the epitome of what "cancel culture" supposedly is.

I actually have no problem with the billboard. Allen is a grown man in a highly paid, highly visible and highly competitive job. Fans voice their displeasure in a variety of ways, booing, bringing in “Fire Dennis Allen” signs to the Dome, getting on social media, etc. This is just another public avenue to do so and if it’s what they want to spend money on, so be it.

Allen can either ignore it, cry about it, or become motivated by it and try to prove everyone wrong.

Side note, while I’ve never wanted the distraction during the Payton years, I really hope we are on Hard Knocks this season. Should be both entertaining and illuminating.

Instead of spending extra money on a useless billboard... save some money by not going to games. If the stadium is empty, that will prompt a change.

Yeah, but if you take the first 12 games out, then they would have been 4-1 and made the playoffs.

You can't take out any games. They were what they were and it's not good enough for DA to keep his job.

Fans want to take another route beyond not showing up to the game. It's sad that it has to come to something like this.

The Saints are actually a very talented team with a mediocre at best coach. He's really not a leader of men. His post-game speeches and pressers make that abundantly clear. Not to mention how the players are responding, or not, to him.

I'm not fussed about the billboard, if anything I think it's funny and surely a HC of an NFL team would have a thick enough skin to ignore stuff like this.

It's not at all 'cancel culture' though is it? It's just plain old sports fan stuff - if we can't call the coach a bum and tell him he should be fired once in a while then what's the point?!!

Cancel culture is when someone gets called out and ostracized because of some cultural belief or action - not being bad at your sports management job - and I'm staying away from discussing the merits or failings of all that. (K!)
