Based on quality of the team when it comes to talent

This would be by far the worst team in Saints history.

now the teams in the past are ofcourse WORSE teams.. but

you have the easiest schedule in the NFL - Check
you have a 3 WR set that coming in could argueable compete for top 5 in the NFL for 3 WR sets - Check
you have Jimmy Graham who has proven that short yardage is virtually unstoppable but you never use him - Check
your play calling to win a game was 4 verticals 4 downs in a row - Check
you blow multiple leads and give away games - Check

I mean I can go on and on..

you literally have a top 10 talent wise team in the organization's history.. and brought in one of the top 5 worst seasons based on this in your organization's history

NOW.. ofcourse there were WORSE teams.. that had atrociously worse talent in our past.

but this season was far beyond inexcuseable on a professional football level.

I literally could go grab a local peewee coach to be a OC for the Saints that would have had much better play design. Than what we had for 80% of the season.
I don't know about the 3WR set. Some of us blame Olave for not catching passes and question him as a number one receiver. But I haven't watched the games so what do I know. I do know many on here talk about Carr only looking his way more often than not. At the same time the offensive line has hindered potential. Did we go into this season expecting a poor OL?

When you look back on the records, 7-10 won’t look as bad, but it feels worse because of the guy who’s coaching.

Weren't we Superbowl picks by some in the media just a year or two ago? In that context it's a pretty bad year.

The team is finding its way after losing its Hall of Fame coach and QB. We knew to expect some lean years since the seasons leading up to Brees’ retirement. As fans, we’re here now. The succession plan isn’t going as well as hoped.

Am I disappointed? Sure, in that I picked the Saints to win 12 games and the ceiling is now 9. Does that make this the worst season I’ve endured as a fan? Get out of here. Not even close.

Based to the expectation that I had, this was a tough one to swallow.

Such high expectations made this one hurt a touch, especially with how things were set for us with strength of schedule and the NFC South.

I have it equal to last season and slightly better than the Katrina year. But those are by far the three most hopeless seasons I've had since 87.

I had more hope in the Ditka years than I do now.

Yeah I think that’s one thing that made it so rough for me. Most of the games weren’t even fun to watch. Just terrible football.
This!

Forget the stats. Believe your eyes.

I've seen worse, but I don't recall disliking a coaching staff more. In some of those worse seasons I at least felt like we just lacked talent on the field and it's really hard to get around a lack of talent. This team has talent in a lot of spots and the coaches are just putting them in terrible positions to succeed. They don't coach to players strengths and it drives me insane on a weekly basis. I am convinced that with almost any new coaching staff, we would have won more games this season because fresh eyes evaluating this roster couldn't possibly misuse players the way this staff does.
Bum Phillips was the worst. Ditka was was pretty egregious too but he didn't have anything to work with..

We were forecasted for 9.5 wins by Vegas, so this season hasn’t been the biggest shock. We can talk all day about an allegedly loaded roster and the easy schedule, but Vegas saw all that and penciled is in for barely getting a winning record. We are locked in on the under at this point.
Vegas also had the Saints as the favorite to win the division. Not just before the season, but just a few weeks ago. Their odds are not predictive.

I have seen the word "disappointing" a few times in this thread, and I think that's the most accurate adjective. But what disturbs me even more is the outlook. The schedule will be much, much more competitive next season. The team is old. The last draft class is disappointing, though due to injuries in the main.

A few questions, not in any particular order:

What the #&$&!! happened to the offensive line blocking.?
Where is the pass rush?
Can the defensive backs learn how to play zone defense?
Can we find a way to stop opposing quarterbacks from getting first downs by running when it's 3rd and long?
Why is Jimmy Graham on the roster if he's constantly not used?
When will the older players "fall off the cliff?" I think this may have happened with Cameron Jordan, but what about Davis and Mathieu?
By the way, what happened to the Bink package?
What happened to Taysom Hill?
Why does the team begin game after game by either allowing a touchdown drive on defense or going 3 and out on offense?

Most of these questions have to do with coaching and personnel management. Draw your own conclusions.

Not the worst season ever, but in terms of failing to capitalize on the easiest schedule since the dawn of time in the worst division in the league? Sickening.

I have seen some horrible years back in the 80s and 90s and 2000s. But we are still fresh after the Brees era and if I have to go by the Brees era I would say the 2014 season, and 2007 season were more disappointing. 2007 coming off a great 2006 with playoffs expectations and 2014 coming off a 2013 season with an improve defense. 2014 was the worst draft I could think of recently.

Our best O lineman this year has been Andrus Peat at LT. Let that sink in for a minute.
