It appears the Kellen Moore thing is shaky (15 Viewers)

That's an objective fact.

That's a subjective perception of an objective fact.

Don't forget that good or bad "optics" are in the eye of the beholder.

You’re right, it’s subjective perception.

Some people’s subjective perception might be that Kellen Moore saying no thanks to moving forward, after Joe Brady said no thanks to being a candidate, Kliff Kingsbury said no thanks to an interview, and Mike McCarthy said no thanks to continued consideration is a fantastic look!

You have not seen me suggest “Saints are racist”. You created the scenario and then tried to infer, dude. You gave me a “what if” scenario of a white guy with a fractional minority claim that helps the team to skirt the RR, while we have an ongoing HC search that’s clearly been an open search without a run away candidate. Yes, I said that would be disgusting. It would be.

You created a fake scenario. I do not think that is real at all.

How is calling the Saints “disgusting” for not interviewing your preference of black candidates instead of a “fractional minority” as if they intentionally don’t want to interview more black candidates not to be inferred as some sort of racist claim undertone?

Because it’s not a real thing. It’s a “what if” you asked. I said it “would be” disgusting, not it is disgusting - because it was a hypothetical. I feel like you are in bizzaro world right now.

Sounds more like we said “No thanks” to McCarthy.

Haha, whatever man. If you say so. Sorry you can’t get more people to be miserable with you tonight. Better luck tomorrow.

That's a nice little strawman argument you made there. I don't no more think it's a fantastic look than I think it's a terrible look. Want to know why? Well let me tell you why.

I know that what I'm seeing reported is a very incomplete picture with most of the details not visible to me.

I know that I have no idea why these coaches withdrew their names.

I know that I have no idea what has been said in private between these coaches and the Saints.

I know that there are a lot of reasons that these coaches could have had for withdrawing their names and that they most likely had more than one reason. We rarely decide or do anything for just one reason.

Because I know all of that, I don't bother to think of it in terms of good or bad "optics."

You can never predict anything.
I’m not saying Super Bowl. I wanna be clear. I’m not saying Moore will lead the team to a NFCCG like 06….
But would it be surprising if Moore steals a weak NFCS?
Exactly, everything is a crapshoot.

Be as visionary as you can be, given the situation, roll the dice and see what happens.

Anybody that predicted on Jan. 18, 2006 that Sean Payton would win a Super Bowl three years later would have been called crazy.

One thing about Moore, he was retained in Dallas when McCarthy was hired because Jerry thought he was a leader, a football mind and a head coach to be developed. He dis the same thing before with Jason Garret. In my opinion, he left Dallas as an scape goat, and McCarthy wanted to call plays.

Another opinion, all candidates have to disagree with ickey about when the team can be competitive. Mickey thinks still we ate close. Coaches should notice there should be a two-year period of clean up plus another three to build a competitive team.

Therefore, candidates should be presenting a 5 year plan, not a quick recipe to fix it.

These disagreements should be noticed by now. Ms. Benson and Denis Lauscha are aware and might affect on changes at the organization.

I mean, adding our generation’s Barry Sanders factors in a liiiiittle bit. I don’t really love Kellen Moore as a HC, but compared to Kafka/Rizzi hell he is the 2nd coming of Sean Payton on paper.

He wasn't thought of this generation's Barry Sanders in New York. He put up some good numbers but nothing like this year. Moore used him right, dialed back Hurts and had him playing smart and efficient football. He threw 15 INT's last year, just 5 this year.

Saquon wasn’t thought of as our generation’s Barry Sanders in New York because he was that entire offense. Everyone that watched Saquon could see he was arguably the best RB in the league and being wasted.

I can’t speak for everyone, but I know I have historical posts from when he signed with Philly that were basically, “uh oh..” posts.

Okay, you can call it a strawman argument and just live in lala land if you want, and that can be a tool you use to feel good about a situation (or yourself). I would call it blind optimism, but do what makes you feel better.

Fandom when you have jobs completely unrelated to football, every post on boards like this are opinions and viewpoints. I am just less conditioned to try to be optimistic when every sign we can see says not to be. You can dwell where you want though.

The delusion in here is incredible. Moore is NOT him. How he played in college has no baring on his ability to be a head coach. We need to stop acting like he pulled some miracle in Philly with the roster they have and Saquan having an all time season. It’s foolish. He went into a good situation loaded with talent, when he hasn’t had talent he’s failed every time. Leaders elevate those around them, sorry I’m not convinced in Moore and I would love to be wrong about it and see him take saints to a superbowl but I am very very sure he doesn’t have the chops to do it.

With reports just now that MM is out. It’s got to be Kafka.
Wait…you mean teams need good players to be good??
