My go-to poboy place in suburban NOLA is Radosta’s , sorry if im repeating myself cause i feel like I’ve mentioned this recently- but i was just there a couple weeks ago and got my favorite, the hot sausage poboy, which is the hottest thing ive ever eaten in my life.. but it also tastes really good.. i used to love Schmitty’s in Kenna, their fried shrimp poboy was overflowing w/tasty shrimp, but havent been there in so long im not sure if i can still recommend it .. when in NOLA proper, of course u cant go wrong with Parkway, and i like Guy’s Poboys on Magazine by the Park (id stop there almost weekly wehn i lived around there a couple years back).. and further down Magazine near the Warehouse i like Mahony’s, but man they shouldnt call them poboys b/c id get a large shrimp poboy and by itself it was $18.. today it probably costs $25 .

Hot Sausage Poboy, are we talking Patton's Sausage or the hot fresh sausage link found at a Rouses/Winn-Dixie meat counter? A hot sausage po-boy made with Patton's and dressed is really good.

You sound like my mom (no offense).. b/c when i went to Radosta’s a couple weeks ago w/my mom, she kept asking me the same type of questions before my poboy actually came out.. the answer is , i dont know what Patton’s is.. i just know that the hot sausage poboy at Radosta’s def isnt links, it’s more of a patty.. but it isnt like some processed patty, it’s like they ground it into some type of hot savage burger patty almost .. dont take my word for it, go check it out .. but for the love of god, HOLD THE DAMN MAYO.. just get it dressed and add French’s regular mustard, the poboy itslef is too hot to add spicy mustard .



ETA i was gonna correct the typo above but i kinda like the idea of a ‘hot savage poboy’

Too much bread and not enough meats and cheese. If I go to Subway, gotta get meatball marinara. I'm not sure if they're open anymore but Randazzo's off service road near Clearview made excellent po-boys. Softshell crab was awesome and I liked the eggplant parm. So I guess I'd go with Randazzo's. Short stop is also good but I probably only ate there once a decade ago so I don't remember it.

Randazzo's is good, but check out Bears (there is one just off the end of North Causeway) right near the border of Old Metry and NO.....stellar....we try and go at least once when visiting....they also have one in Covington.

And whoever mentioned Radastas, that place is still the bomb after all these years, got a shrimp poboy from there a few years ago, same as I remember from the 80's.....

Sounds exactly like Pattons. You can grab a small bucket of about 10 patties next time you are in town and stick some in your ice chest and take back home, Rouses carries them in the open cooler’s usually.

They're good. You can cook them right from frozen.
 
Did someone mention Short Stop? The subway of poboy shops…blech

Right across the street from that dump you will find Banh Mi Boys which is incredible

Short stop is ok, but it's far from a poboy destination place for me....Banh Mi Boys is outstanding....
