Jersey Mike's coming to Da Metrys... (2 Viewers)

Regarding “real“ Philly cheesesteaks , I’ve eaten at Tony Luke’s in Philly several times and I’m pretty sure they used provolone. The first time I was in his shop Vince Papale was in there signing autographs along with a jersey giveaway.

also, What the Fork! is with the firehouse love? they literally suck donkey nuts. worst bread second only to subway's. floppy arse sheet fork bread.

Unless i missed it, i don’t recall anyone here saying they ‘love’ Firehouse.. in my first post i purposefully said it’s ‘decent’…. Again, expectations are everything; when youre in a pinch for time, and dont want the nastiness of a Burger King or Taco Bell or something, Firehouse doesn’t taste bad IMO.. also, i recall you saying you love Rally’s , so i honest to god dont understand how you could say anything about Firehouse or any place else for that matter .

So of course i had to grab Jersey Mike’s for lunch today.. #26 Chicken Bacon Ranch, hold the cheese… and dontcha know who i happened to see enjoying a Jersey Mike’s sub on this particular day, but Mr Anthony Bourdain himself…..

.. in all seriousness, this guy bore an uncanny resemblance, i just wish i coulda gotten a better shot without being too obvious .. and wouldnt it just be the most 2023 thing ever for Anthony Bourdain to rise from the dead and go to eat at a Jersey Mike’s of all places ?
What are you doing to make that woman on the far right look appalled?

whatevz, i love junk food. i'll even eat firehouse, but it will never be my first choice.

Most of the Philly natives I know don't get Cheese Whiz on their cheesesteaks (more of a tourist thing), they prefer provolone, as do I.....one of the best I've ever had was a little mom/pop place...Broadway Pizza in Cabin John Mall.....of course they forced them out in Dec 2021 for a big chain....so glad I moved away from that area.....

i like it better with White American vs Provolone. And i totally thought the other way around.

There is no substitute for the po-boy on real NOLA french bread....absolutely none

Yessir!!!

I am lucky enough to live less than 1/4 mile from one who serves one on
Nola french bread delivered daily. The bakeries on the Ms. coast come
very close, but we can't duplicate the baking conditions from Nola.

I think I'll have one for lunch today :)

Do tell where...

As for Ms Coast french bread bakeries, my favorite is Le Bakery in Biloxi. Desporte's used to be as good as NOLA bread. :shedstear:
