Neither justifies the other. It aint cute...at all.

I am sick and tired of feeling used and abused as a peaceful tax paying citizen who just wants to go to work, raise my family and love my neighbor. I hate having to weigh the balance of raising my children away from their immediate family versus eating the abuse here in town every...freakin...year. It's wrong. This is not how a city of this 'status' should be.

Now, I realize that we voted this immoral and corrupt ignoramus into office. That's a cultural problem. But at what point do the sane people cut bait and move to no where, America to have a fighting chance of something resembling a fair shake? Mardi Gras and the Saints aren't enough to make up for the deficiencies anymore.

Yep. Should have a long time before. And yet in the very first election I was old enough to vote for, I had to vote him in one last time out of simple self defense. I was still naive and thought that choice would be the most godawful one I would ever have before me on a ballot.

Yes there are some very real issues
Yes some of those lie directly with the mayor
We could also have the best mayor ever and still suffer greatly bc our state is 50th out of 50 in most metrics
Your sentiments also echo the last 3-4 white flights we’ve had
Most of those were also economic downturns
But it’s clear in teaching the kids of parents or grandparents who were part of the previous migrations, their explanations are usually more about ‘culture’
Economics is something that can be addressed- ‘culture’ is a bogeyman
Let’s address the economics and leave the ‘culture’ for the history books (as long as we’re still allowed to teach/learn history)

Anyone remember in the early 80s when Edwards and Treen ran against each other and some radio station ran it like Star Wars battles and portrayed Treen as Darth Treen. They would do skits like every morning and I found it hilarious even as a 10/11 year old!

I have lived in many places and do not remember one place even marginally ok with municipal services

But the Latoya stuff goes well beyond that and even passed the Hillary/‘lock her up’ nonsense (bc it’s mixed with ‘culture’)
YES - Latoya is incompetent and yet y’all ascribe some incredible powers to her. Like she walked into an idyll and in a matter of years, single-handedly destroyed some mix of Nordic and Japanese efficiency

Do you see CA and NV better or worse because I’m in both places once a month, I was in Sacramento, San Francisco, Oakland, LA and San Diego last week and the only one that is somewhat functional is San Diego.

Las Vegas is an absolute mess. It’s get worse by the day.

Side note - I have offices in each of the places I’ve named so we deal with local and state government all the time and it’s brutal. As bad or worse when I did the NOLA VA hospital.
