Karate Kid Sequel (1 Viewer)

to me what makes this thing work at all is the evolution of Johnny. Daniel is an uninteresting adult for the most part. The kids are great but for us in the first gen Karate Kid fam, it is a little too BH90210, particularly in the 2nd season. Here is hoping they get back to more of what worked to begin with.

Agreed. Compared to how much he was hated in the original movie, I immediately empathized with Johnny in season 1.

I do have this question... Was that Daniel's wife confronting Kreese inside the dojo? Sure looked like it.

I was assuming it was hinting at Elizebeth Shue since they did the same kind of cliff hanger at the end of season one with Kreese. Don’t know though, I’ll have to rewatch.

Yes, it's her.

I don't know. Daniel trying and failing to be Miyagi is kind of interesting to watch play out. In fact, the finale of season 2 would have been Miyagi's worst nightmare: kids just going apeshirt on each other in what basically amounts to karate gang warfare. Daniel is trying to do the right thing for the wrong reasons (he only re-established Miyagi-Do as a counter to Cobra Kai, not really on its own merits) and it has really only escalated things.

But yes, Johnny's arc is unquestionably the foundation of the show. He is the anti-hero we're all rooting for now.

The teenage drama doesn't really bother me. Some of it (Hawk going from bullied nerd to power tripping psychopath) is pretty interesting.

Anyone else having trouble with logging into their Netflix account? I haven't used mine in a while, but password resets don't let me in. It seems to be a problem on the Netflix end of things.

Just like the Mandalorian season finale, this finale gave us something we've all been wanting to see for decades. Some of the teenage angst drama was over the top, but overall I think this was a super strong 3rd outing.

Binged it today. Really fun season. Looking forward to season 4!
