League insiders tells Tony Pauline that Aaron Glenn will end up being Saints Head Coach [Edit: Underhill says no decision is close to being made]

Yes, let’s bring back Dennis Allen’s secondary coach and saddle him with Dennis Allen’s old coaches.

Sounds like a recipe for success.

If Aaron Glenn hadn’t been here before, no one would want him. He’s familiar. I’m sure he’s a good guy and players like him. But this team needs a difference maker who can produce an identity for this team. Glenn is an average defensive coordinator running the same scheme that has already failed miserably with our players. That’s not an identity.
I'm not crazy about AG but he will get quite a few HC interviews and it has nothing to do with familiarity. Think what you will but DA is an innovative DC , it's not the scheme it's the players and DA's lack of accountability that was the issue

I don't have an issue with hiring Glenn. Not my first choice, but I don't think it would be a terrible hire. But, if they hire him because or with the requirement that he keep certain coaches that would be a dumb move.

That being said what is Sportskeeda.com and who is Tony Pauline?

Widge drilled this one. We need less of Loomis’ influence on the field and in the coaches brains. The fact that he is basically trying to find a new puppet instead of a new head coach tells you everything you need to know about ego driving the downward spiral of a franchise.

How people can’t see that this has massive failure written all over it as a hire here blows my mind

I'm so tired of Loomis
If he's really controlling things to this degree then I guess I am too. Good grief. I'll never understand hiring a new coach but not allowing that coach to bring in his guys. It's like having a Mexican joint but one day the owner decides that he wants to turn into a French fusion fine dining joint. So the owner brings in a qualified French chef but retains the rest of the kitchen because they are family. So you have a bunch of Mexicans trying to cook French fine dining. The results could be inconsistent.

Bring in a qualified chef, let him assemble a staff, and then let him cook. This isn't difficult. But with this front office things end up becoming far more difficult than they need to be.

I look at Loomis in a completely different light after his gum smacking press conference last year. He’s hell bent on showing that he’s at least half if not most of the reason for the Saints’ success the past two decades. When in reality Sean Payton and Drew Brees made up most of the pie.

Here comes Mr. Copy and Paste. Lol

The reality is as a fanbase we don’t need some reporter telling us what will happen. All we need to do is look at what has happened recently. Loomis wants familiarity and has already interviewed Glenn for the HC position. The Saints have to interview a minority candidate again due to the Rooney rule which means it’s a given Glenn will get another interview for the HC position. I would be shocked if it isn’t Aaron Glenn at this point. I would rather Flores if we’re going defensive minded head coach.

The previous hiring cycle was about maintaining what Payton had built. They (wrongly) thought the train would just keep moving. The desire for familiarity dos not have to mean that they are looking to keep the status quo. Aaron Glenn is not Dennis Allen. All of this talk of ego and whatnot is just more fan board psychologist nonsense.
Ummmmm……well, I’m a fan of Glenn, and wouldn’t be opposed to the hire.
However, it was reported that ML will hire someone he “knows”, along with the other report of Glenn having the inside track. Sure, Glenn and DA are two different people, although making a hire based on replicating the same formula of success, is a product of status quo. You don’t have to have the same individuals for something to be status quo. It’s more of the system and process, that lends credence to it.

Plus, if other potential candidates get the feeling that Glenn will ultimately be the hire, then why should they even care to interview with us, or take us seriously????
These reports, whether true or not, is doing more harm than good. We could be missing out on other great hires
