Lego building as a hobby

My seven year old has that lego wind turbine at 0:14. He put it on an Amazon Christmas wish list when he was four, and I let him on the assumption that no-one was daft enough to spend that much on a 12+ lego set for a four year old.

So of course his grandad (my dad) got it for him. Had a lot of fun building it, it's on top of some shelves behind me now, next to the millenium falcon (not the 75192 crazy expensive one, the other one).
I saw that wind turbine and told myself, that's in the top 5 on my wish list. My top 5 I want right now:

1) Avengers Tower
2) Rivendell
3) Millennium Falcon
4) Lighthouse - the motorized one.
5) Wind Turbine

The wind turbine is very cool. Huge though!

Rivendell would also be on my list. Along with the Lion Knights' Castle. Would love them to do something along the same lines for the classic 1980s space Lego sets.

I also like the Holiday Main Street... and I have a feeling Santa's going to be bringing that this year. Plus, I think judging by the older kid's wish list this year, there'll also be a load of Minecraft Lego showing up.

Nice, that's some good stuff. The Castle looks really good. I like space stuff as well.

I'd love Titanic, Eiffel Tower and the Colosseum. I think the Colosseum is being retired and they're already out of stock, so that would probably be a third party purchase. We'll probably have to move to make room for those big ones though.

There's a Lego store in JFK airport, in case any of you Lego lovers pass through there and have time to kill. They have some pretty amazing sets. I wanted to buy one for my son for Christmas when I was passing through on my way back from Italy but I was already carrying way too much stuff.

And, I'm done! Lol. Was a pretty fun build. Probably more fun than sets that cost twice as much. Not super complicated or difficult. But plenty of cool little features that makes the build interesting. For a $70 price tag, this was worth it imo. They're selling for more online, but the Walmart my parents got it at, it was on clearance for 30% off the $100 list price.

I still have (well, technically, my son has them) the original Galaxy Explorer minifigs from when I was a kid. I believe mine wears a blue suit.

my wife bought tickets to Brick Fest live in BR for next year. my 14 year old is excited..

Welp, my family went nuts and bought me a whole bunch of stuff. The Succulents I bought for my wife. Yeah, I'm trying to get her hooked. Lol. The rest was mostly from my wife and a couple from my kids and parents. My wife is the best! I've already posted the Galaxy Explorer, and I'm doing all of the Star Wars sets. After that, I haven't decided. I want to do Avengers Tower so bad, but I think I'm gonna wait until I figure out how I'm gonna display everything. I'm leaning Lunar Lander after completing the SW sets.
