Lego building as a hobby (1 Viewer)

Son indeed got the firefighter plane for Xmas and it took him about a day to complete it. He took breaks here and there but I’m still impressed

I finished the Lunar Lander today. Pretty fun build. Some interesting techniques to get the shape of the Lander. The legs were a little tricky to get right. I love the shape of it and the way you can pull some of the sections off to view the inside of it.

Yea, I had a lot of fun with that one myself. I think the Lunar Lander was the 2nd Lego kit I’ve ever built.

So, I just wanted to get an idea of what's ahead with the Avengers Tower. Lol, easily the biggest set I've ever gotten. I'm pretty stoked.

Interesting there was a box within a box. Which makes sense because putting all of those bags in one big box would cause the main box to bulge and get damaged really easily. The white box helped keep the main box shape intact. Clever packaging.

40+ individual bags is wild. This is gonna be a journey, lol.

Just dump ‘em all on the floor. They’re going to get you eventually.

Seems like splitting the pieces into different bags defeats some of the challenge.
One giant bag with all the pieces. Sorting them out is half the fun.

Lol, idk. If it's more than like 1k pieces, I would not want to deal with that much sorting. For 5200 pieces, I'm glad it's broken out into 40 bags. It helps keep things organized and it also makes it easier for me to pace myself. I'll stop and take breaks between bags.

I remember how much I enjoyed Legos as a kid and I just looked up the cognitive benefits for dementia and Lego building. I might need to pick up this hobby as I get older since dementia runs in my family.

Avengers Tower looks so dang cool. It’s one of the kits I’m considering but I don’t yet have a spot for it.

The footprint doesn't seem too bad, but the height, that's gonna be tricky. Won't fit on a bookshelf unless you have high ceilings.

I'm planning on setting up a dedicated room for Legos, but I'm not quite there yet. The kids aren't ready to move out just yet, lol.

Just gonna put it on a table for now. Eventually will build some custom tables or shelving.

Yea, as you can see from my pic on the 1st page of this thread, I use my office as my lego room. I’d rather have LEGOs behind me on Zoom calls than a blurred background. My customers tend to like it. I get all sorts of questions about the Falcon or RazorCrest.
