Lord of the Rings Series -- Amazon (1 Viewer)

yeah, i just found last season to be pretty but boring. hopefully it's more interesting and exciting this time around.

I guess one can't complain about it being free. If you have a samsung tv, the app is probably already installed on it

From today until August 28, you can stream season one at no cost on Samsung TVs and other devices where the Samsung TV Plus app is available

Don't think I’ll be rushing into S2 unless y’all have some glowing reviews. I was just trying to make it through most of S1.

Sometimes entertainment appeal outweighs moral principles. This show is no such temptation.

And what moral principles are holding you back from watching this show?
I respect Tolkien. The show disrespects him. The show is intellectually weak, artistically foul, and utterly devoid of any honest resemblance to Tolkien's work. The show intentionally avoids Tolkien. Why?

The show does not have the copyright to the same story that it is trying to tell.

That's a recipe for disrespect at best and disaster at worst. It's worse than the worst of the post-book Game of Thrones shows because at least the HBO showrunners talked to the author and could do the story legally.

The show is purely an Amazon money-grab; its pretense to use Tolkien's world is so flawed that it insults both the author and the audience.

I declare that nobody who likes this show and/or plans to watch Season Two truly appreciates Tolkien.
