Making the case to heavily pursue Joe Brady for Head Coach (10 Viewers)

Nah, you aren't digging out of that one. Its just a truly indefensible proposition.

Don't know about it being "indefensible" but it's a reach.....I don't put much into it, notwithstanding the fact it is from 5 years ago....

Of course it's a reach. We are talking about a guy that none of us know and none of us have met or talked to. Anything any of us say is a reach and speculation. It's just information I recalled from a long time ago.

And again, I'm not saying it disqualifies him. All I'm saying is that after just having a HC that lacked the personality to lead and motivate a team, I have concerns that Brady lacks those skills. Concerns doesn't mean that he doesn't it just means it's something to be looked at. Maybe he has developed them over the last 5 years, but as I said there are stories that Brady does not interview well.

A team he literally had just been the OC of a team that had a gargantuan amount of yards and a national title, notwithstanding his lack of desire to talk to fans in restaurants.

Ill stand by this being a bad take, or irrelevant. I sit here thinking about successful NFL head coaches, and none of them seem like guys that would love talking to fans in restaurants. Its just not something I think is at all part of what GMs look for in a head coach.

King of pointless post calling posts pointless. Sheesh.

I know you want to pick a fight by misrepresenting or not understanding what I said because you fancy yourself a keyboard bully but I'm not taking the bait.

I should have known better than to reveal your posts when you are on my ignore list.

No sheet? I had no idea.

The point isn't that he won't talk to fans, the point is that he may not have the right personality to lead a team and an organization. Think Pete Carmichael, Dennis Allen, etc. They are both good X and O guys but they lack the personality to lead the team and the organization. If Brady is an introvert, that's generally not the right personality trait for a head coach.

That is backed up by rumors that Brady does not interview well.

Im not sure theres enough info on introvert personalities being a hinderance to the head coaching position, but I do agree it seems logical that it would be. Bill Bellichick. was a know introvert. But just so you know, it seems as if Joe Brady is more known as an ENTJ, which means extraverted, intuitive, thinking, and judging. This matches the profile of Kevin O'Connell and Sean McVay and is known as a common personality type for coaches across all sports and coaching positions as well.

Also, I've met a few people who worked as coaches/trainers and even players in the NFL, as well as an actors, and a common theme is that none of em always enjoy random people constantly coming up to them all the time. This is reference to a different post where someone said they recall reading something long ago when Brady was with LSU and commented about people coming up to him. It seems Brady is just one of the few who have spoken up about it publicly

Nah, you called a post "pointless as usual", but edited. You are standing by Joe Brady not being HC material because he doesn't like talking to fans in restaurants. And that's fine. Enjoy your day.

I did not say that. I said it's a concern that he appears to be an introvert so it needs to be looked into before a hire so we don't end up with and offensive version of DA.

And the post still says your post was pointless. I edited to add that it is also wrong as usual.

But, it is a classic keyboard bully tactic to take a shot at someone and then claim to be the victim when someone responds in kind.

"fans were too over the top and would come up to him and want to talk to him in restaurants and public places. That kind of makes me wonder if he has the personality to be an NFL head coach."

Have a good day Widge. Im not going to participate any more in your quest for 50k posts.

Since when does "makes me wonder" mean he's not NFL head coach material?

The SSF was better when you were banned and I think it's pretty clear in this thread why that happened.

If we are going with Joe Brady because of the season Josh Allen is having then we should point our attention to Liam Coen instead for the season he is having with Baker Mayfield. I'd rather the guy breaking out with an average QB over a guy who has been a superstar before Joe Brady.

I quoted what you posted. You said it kind of makes you wonder if he has the personality to be an NFL head coach because he doesn't like to talk to fans.

I understand the concern, I have the same one.....but, I don't think that information sheds any light on it, good or bad.....hopefully he (along with multiple other good candidates) gets an interview, we will see....

I don't disagree. It was honestly just a throw away line about something I read 4 or 5 years ago that someone with an agenda decided to jump on because they have some sort of axe to grind with me.

Truth is we don't know much of anything about any of these guys personality and leadership wise. For all I know Coen and Johnson are terrible leaders and Brady is a great leader or maybe they are all equally good. I guess I'm just more focused on that issue now after 3 years of a guy that just wasn't a good leader.

Speaking of Brady

Burrow leaving Ohio unhappy a 2nd time to come to Louisiana and win another chip with Brady would be the greatest story in the history of the state, outside of being a kindergartener and seeing those mermaids outside the worlds fair in 84.

That ain't happening, but Im all for Brady getting a shot. Patience would be required for sure.
