N/S Brandin Cooks traded to Rams (4 Viewers)

The Rams are just going all in NOW. They want to win before Goff's contract is up. It's crazy because of some of that young talent you would think they would do this the slower right way, but they are acting like they are a team that is about to lose key players to FA or retirement which isn't true. I guess they have seen what big contracts do to teams so they are hoping to win now before they owe him like 30 million a year.

Watkins has had about 50% of the production Cooks has had the last two seasons.

The Rams clearly don't see it as a wash and McVay isn't dumb.

Your tone makes me want to say, out loud, “don’t get your bonchies in a bunch” but you’re shooting it straight. Cooks produces, regardless if it’s one trick or two.

The Rams are going all in on this year with cap implosion coming next year. Cooks is still on his rookie deal and will want to get paid. Same with Peters, Donald, Gurley, and soon Goff. Suh is only on a one year deal. The conspiracy theorist in me is thinking the NFL wants the LA market revived and a Superbowl / playoff run to get the ratings and fan base charged. Also they resigned Tavon Austin at a cheaper number, Cooks is a better version of the small quick deep threat that Austin was supposed to be. The Rams 2018 cap is a mirage, brilliant for their GM, but giving up a first rounder that would help later cap problems especially after they already did the same thing on a one year rental of Watkins for a second rounder and now have nothing to show for it does not lead to long term sustainability. Your depth will suffer without draft picks. Ask the Bounty Gate Saints.

He's a good WR across the middle on intermediate routes as well but no one gives him credit for it. What he doesn't do well is catch short passes and stuff behind the LOS like a Jarvis Landry.

But yes, he makes his money on deep passes and those yards still help move you down the field. There's noway they can pay Peters, Cooks, Suh, Gurley, Darnold, and several other players all in the same offseason.

The fire sale and cuts will be coming for them in 2019.

Who remembers what happened to the last DREAM TEAM.

Let's be real. That team had a broken down Michael Vick and Vince Young at QB.

They were never really a dream team. The moves the Rams made should definitely pay off this year. It's in a year or two that it may harm them because of salary issues.

This x 1000...NFL wants a winner in this market:aargh:

So basically exactly what we traded him for, minus one more year of play.

Thought we gave up a 4th but got a 3rd back plus their first is a little bit higher. Seems like they got back a little bit more value than what we did esp with him only having one year left on his contract....

Cooks is still alive after the Super Bowl?

Sarcasm aside, Rams look like they're going to claim the title of off season champs and get some "dream team" talk. With all these personalities in the locker room and high expectations, it makes me wonder about how that translates on the field. How do they react in tough situations? After a loss or two? Do they stay motivated or crumble?

Regardless, I still think the Saints will matchup well against the Rams. That's all that matters to me at the end of the day.

So patriots have three first round picks? Maybe they will trade up.

Yeah, I remember the Eagles. They had too basically tear down the whole team and rebuild because of Chip Kelly.

I think there is something up with Cooks though. We got rid of him, Patriots got rid of him. We will see how long he sticks with the Rams....
