N/S Brandin Cooks traded to Rams (1 Viewer)

Well, he won't get a TD in our game against the Rams this coming year either.

Should we go after Tavon

Austin.....I always thought about him in SP system.

Oh, God no. He's useless in this league. If he was still at West Virginia - sure, draft him and have him give less than we got from Cooks. We should know better. Pretty sure we do.

He just signed a new one year deal with the Rams.

He reminds me of Cordelle Patterson (Patterson is obviously much taller but same type of player). Can't really play WR but can't play RB either. Good returners.

I really trust Ireland and Payton to get an immediate impact at WR in the draft this year.

Cooks is a small, excellent, blazing fast WR with superb hands and disciplined route runner. But he has major drawbacks. He has no moves after catch and goes down with the touch of a finger. I had him in FF last year. He would blow-up for 125 yard TD games them disappear for 2-3 games.

Cooks had 2 of the 3 greatest QBs in the game passing to him, Brees and Brady. Let's see how well Goff can use him. I'm still not sold on Goff

Agreed.

Swimmer, has your dog taken over posting for you?

The Rams are definitely loading up for a run. I think Cooks and Sammy Watkins are about a wash. Defensively they are going to be tough. Goff does not scare me though. He could be the weak link.

The RAMS are loading up hoping to sell some tickets, if they can’t turn things around and soon it’s going to be a real problem for the NFL.

Can’t wait until we play them Rams... and stomp a mud hole in them...

imho, that's wishful thinking.

You can pretty well go to the bank that Wade Phillips will get high productivity out of the defensive stars they signed this year. Defensively, they will be formidable.

On offense, Gurley is a monster, the best RB in the league who is also elite RB out of the backfield in passing. Now Cooks. Watkins gets a lot of press and pretty much always under performs. If Goff progresses, they could be the favorite to win it all. And their division is no longer the vaunted NFC West. Seattle is on the way down, the Cards are a mess and SF may be 8-8. I wish they had to play Atlanta, Panthers and Bucs 2x per year.

The Saints will draft a WR better than Cooks.

Rams trying to go all in because they know They've are going to have to pay Goff Donald and Gurley

Yup only the pats can find someone to give more value than what they gave us

Honestly I am happy with how our off season is going so far. Only bummer was losing Kelamente but signing some good contributors is far better than getting top free agents who may or may not buy into the team or the system. The Rams off season moves kind of reminds our off season move in 2014 after coming off a good season before....Get rid of good players and paying top free agents, only to see it failed miserably.

Rams move is more like trying to compete with the 49ers. But I am enjoy watching other teams overestimating themselves. Getting rid of players that was playing so well for them and bringing in players that there is no guaranteed they will do just as well. Isn't that a questionable move? Wasn't Sammy Watkins doing well for them? Cooks is a good player but Sammy can perform well enough to keep and not having to trade the first round for Cooks.
