Now we have to roll with Hill. (3 Viewers)

Maybe not. CSP likes using Taysom as Taysom. To continue to use him in that role, Siemian or Book would need to be the starter going forward.

Hill must run it and run hit hard. Otherwise, Hill is no more than a practice squad-type QB. I say let him rip it, and if he gets hurt, then see roll with Simian and or Book.
This is why I think Hill won't start. What makes Hill special is the way he runs with anger and ferocity. If you're QB1, especially QB1 coming off a 3-week concussion absence, I doubt you'll have the green light to do that. Without the running, Taysom is an inaccurate passer whose deep balls hang in the air like punts, who's prone to turnovers, and who doesn't go through his progressions if his first option is covered.

I love Hill, he is one of my favorite Saints players. I am going to route for him to succeed no matter where he lines up.

If it were my decision, I think I would let Trevor Siemian start next week. If Hill is ready to play, he is best suited in his current joker position...that gives the team the best chance to win.

If Payton goes with Taysom, I am 100% on board.

In Sean I Trust.

I have a feeling that Siemian will start and be on a short leash with Book next man up. I don't think Hill will ever be a starter for Payton. He's just too indecisive and fumble prone.

I just don't see how he continues in the joker role with the concussion concern. I'm okay with him being QB1 now but he'll have to do it from the pocket.

The amount of fanboyism and doubt fostered in the off season against Tasyom is astounding... The guy won games for us at QB last year as the starter (75% of them)... He's not a pretty or traditional QB, but he wins, the team loves him, and most importantly - Sean trusts him... He also had very similar overall numbers/success in 4 games last year, as Winston had through 6 this year.

Some of these threads about singing or trading for a QB now are dumb to put it lightly...

Sean has already said... Taysom "if healthy" is our guy going forward.

Anyone that thinks that any of these other scrub QBs are going to come in and save the day or even have a chance at starting or playing over Taysom (who has been in this system for years under Brees and Sean), OR even being a viable backup before Trevor.... is kidding themselves.

Get on board with Taysom. Be glad we have Tervor to back him up, or even hold it down until he's ready to play.

TAYSON HILL AT THE QB POSITION IS HOT GARBAGE!!!!

I think it is entirely possible to support Taysom and his endeavors as a player on this roster who can, and does, contribute.

I also think it's entirely possible to recognize that we have basically zero chance at accomplishing anything worthwhile with him at QB.

And no, I don't want Cam Newton or Gardner Minshew. Even the thought of Nick Foles and his playoff experience doesn't get me excited, but I would still feel better with him than Taysom.

Having said that......if Taysom is somehow able to flip a switch and finally turn into "the next Steve Young", he certainly has my permission to do so.

Pretty much this...he's more than welcome to evolve as a QB, I won't be mad if he does so. But if 2 weeks from now, we're still looking at the same sad arse deep ball and half field reads, I say let Siemian go for it. He played like he had nothing to lose with poise...I like that.

How exactly does a passer with a 70% completion percentage get tagged as inaccurate?

Deep passes have not been good, but that 70% from last year wasn't dump-offs either. Hill has been really good with the intermediate stuff.

And I agree with your point about his running style. That said, he can still run with power when needed. And he'll need to from time to time to take advantage of his skill set.

Winston was killing Tampa with his legs. It's a shame he got hurt, but should that mean he should never run again when he gets back? Of course not.

Running isn't really JWs game, he can move a little bit but he's a pocket passer. I think they mentioned that he ran a 5s 40...that's not really that good. He was just a man out there doing anything he can for his team...its a shame that he had to do all of that due to lack of weapons...but it showed how selfless he was as a player. He'll be back.

GD, I'm really sounding like AHJ now :mad1:

Many can see this, yes. Obviously one of the forum jokes who was embarrassed early in the season and largely disappeared for a while after a summer of hyping up Taysom's supposed victory in the QB battle has an issue with this logic and simply clownfaces everything instead of providing intelligent discourse (not to mention the same person who was advising people to wager TB in this game "while you can".....hopefully people recognized the source and didn't listen), but most of us understand that not wanting someone to play QB doesn't mean you're a "hater". I don't want Alvin Kamara, Michael Thomas, or Mark Ingram to play QB either.
