Odds to pick #1: Saints moved from 200 to 1 odds to 26 to 1; Vegas has Saints as 3rd most likely team to select at #1

Would you want Cam Ward at #1?

I do believe the Saints are willing to make a big offer for Ward. I don’t believe the Titans would be willing to drop back to 9. I also think Ward is a good QB, but I don’t think he is a franchise changing QB.

Nevertheless, I love the predraft drama. This is fun.

I disagree. His response is what any player would say about any team when asked. This movement has to be coming from somewhere else IMO. Vegas doesn't make money by adjusting odds without info the rest of us aren't privy to. It probably won't happen, but the last time I saw a draft bet jump like this was when Kyler Murray's odds of being drafted #1 shot up from like 30 to 1 to off the board. Kingsbury was hired and had said when he was still coaching in college that he'd take Murray #1 overall if he were an NFL coach.

As far as the Watson one, we were in it until the end. They weren't wrong, they adjusted the likelyhood of it happening in real time. Same here. The chance we are trying to move up is a lot more likely now than it was a week ago. Not saying I agree with it. Is what it is.

I agree that the line movement represents a higher chance that the Saints trade up, but I don’t believe it’s because of some secret report that they’ve gotten. I believe it’s based on the same info that everyone else has gotten recently.

Many people on this board have had the idea that the Saints were in the mix to move up before these odds were updated due to multiple reports, not just the one I mentioned. There’s been quite a few posts about the possibility. That says that the public was already privy to the idea so Vegas adjusted their lines accordingly. My point being that Vegas odds don’t validate the idea anymore than the posts on the board.

Vegas makes money off the juice and by luring in gamblers by taking advantage of “gamblers fallacy” such as line movement. Their only motive is to get as many people to bet as much possible.

From what I've watched of Ward, he's got the gunslinger escapable vibe. He throws off balance and relies on his arm too much. Ceiling is high if he can correct those things. But he can have a year to learn. Haener would seem to be the odd man out.

But what cost? I lived through Ricky Williams. Not a fan of how that worked out. From what I saw, I wouldn't move up for Ward because I think Rattler has as much upside. I've only watched the game. KM is the guy making the call.

Sorry, I'm not trading multiple 1st and multiple day 2 picks and more than likely Olave for this guy. He has too many question marks

I find it hilarious that with so many people questioning the decision-making of Loomis and Ireland when it comes to talent evaluation and deal-making that you all are saying " If the Saints feel like Ward is the guy then you go get him whatever the cost " LOL SMH

Wow for someone who celebrated drafting Ricky Williams.... at the time just wanted the franchise to take a chance and act like they wanted to win....
Which I figured he would take so much pressure off our QB that we would finally get to the playoffs ... apparently pot was more important than football...

Not sure how many draft picks I would give up and would hope there are players traded instead.... but would get behind the trade till it was time to fire someone...

Not sure who that "evaluator" is, but there definitely seems to be some outright errors and strong differing opinions on Wards traits/ability from people I trust much more than this guy. For starters the guy said Ward took 43 sacks last season. ESPN shows him only taking 22 sacks, which is actually pretty good. He then said Ward's anticipation is "average" when other analysts have stated it's one of Ward's best traits as a thrower and often highlight his willingness to throw over the middle of the field because of it. I'd argue throwing with anticipation is one of the most important traits for an NFL QB to be successful and Ward is excellent in that area.

Here's some other film breakdowns from bigger name analysts that give Ward glowing reviews:

How did Peyton Manning do his rookie yr??
touché.

Although I’d say Peyton was the exception rather than the rule. Big time exception.

Anyhow my post was no slight against Caleb.

Speaking of Peyton:

Ok here's another one, notice the comparison QB. I'm not saying that Ward is not the best QB in the draft. I don't see him being on the same level as some of the other 1# QB picks in the draft. And absolutely not worth trading multiple 1st plus multiple combinations of 2s and 3s along with Olave to move up for. It would be foolish and reckless

Never heard of these “analysts” either, but them comparing Cam Ward to Derek Carr is enough for me to not take them seriously as they are nothing alike. I’m still on board with trading up for Ward if Moore believes he’s the QB he wants to build with. The top tier traits are obvious with Ward and there’s a ton of talent to work with. I’m definitely not “trade up for Ward or bust”, but I definitely support it of Moore wants him as I can easily see why he would.

Like they are seriously comparing Ward to Derek Carr lmao. Can’t say I’ve ever seen Card do something like this.

I know a lot of people are posting about the Saints possibly trading up for a QB in the first round. I just don’t see the Saints giving up the resources to do it.
It’s not in their DNA and personally I don’t believe it would be a good move. I don’t see the next Mahomes in this draft. Just my 2 cents.
