Rap: DA returning barring “debacle”, Gayle/Loomis commend him for “holding it together” citing injury excuses (1 Viewer)

DA will be fired in 2024. This is a 6 win team next year at best. The schedule will be much tougher against the NFC East and AFC West that could see us 2-6. We probably play Minny, Rams, and Cleveland which sees us 1-2 if lucky. We will split the division. We won't hire a new offensive coordinator for 2024 because no one with a future wants to be tied to DA. With Peat and Erving FAs, Ram maybe done, and the IOL sub-par, there is a chance for an epic collapse next year with a sub 5 win season.

The only hope is that we hire a new coach in 2025 when we start to purge some bad contracts.

This is the new standard for your New Orleans Saints. It only took two years for DA to torch what Sean/Drew built to the ground, and our management believes he’s earned another shot despite not reaching a single goal and failing to win the worst division in football while playing the leagues easiest schedule. Dark times ahead.

Do you not understand that injuries are real. They're not excuses. They're facts.

Look at what happened to FSU after injuries, NIL and getting snubbed.

You can't win in the NFL with half your payroll on the sidelines and all the whining in the world can't undo the effects of rolling the dice trying to win now.

What more can you honestly ask for other than to try to win every freaking year and, if this is a rebuild, I'll take 8 wins any day over the 92 Cowboys.

Totally disagree. Allen has shown his inability to be a team leader, which a head coach is supposed to be. Even his defense is on the decline.

Keep making excuses though.
I’m still operating under the assumption that ML is using DA as a caretaker while transitioning to an updated roster/approach

This is 3 flat tires because the driver thought it'd be a good idea to drive through a construction site. We need a new driver while the car is still salvageable.
Or you finish paying off the notes on this car that you can still drive so you can get a better car you can afford in a year

I would probably put a set of headers on the car so it sounds good on the outside then throw a nice system in it with some subs so it sounds good on the inside. I'd look at some weather tech floor mats too. Wait....can it be a truck? I'd rather have a truck.

If that was their line of thinking then they wouldn't go out and buy a high priced engine (Carr) for the old car. You keep Winston and you have a ton of free money for years, can basically revamp your entire roster. Not to mention they spent a ton of money on restructuring old guys and their contracts to make them even more backloaded. They also wouldn't re-sign Jordan and add phantom years to contracts. If Loomis is trying to transition the roster he's doing a god awful job at it.

All teams deal with injuries. This is bull jive of the highest degree.
Yea, I think the biggest sticking point, is DA most likely heavily endorsed the signing of Carr. And it was a known excuse for Carrs fails at the Raiders were lack of continuity with the coaching staff. So it seems to be logical if you fire DA and PC, then Carr will regress. So they are looking for any reason to keep the band together. Because Carrs contract forces him another year. It also makes sense to keep the band together already knowing they will fail next year, due to the huge dead money contracts. What would be telling is if they treat next year like a rebuilding year and sell it to the fans that they are trying to win. They would covertly not extend and rework contracts for ppl they don’t expect to have 1 year from now. Say if they extend a young guy, then that would be normal business. But if they extend an old player then we are completly screwed for years to come. lol.
