Rap: DA returning barring “debacle”, Gayle/Loomis commend him for “holding it together” citing injury excuses (1 Viewer)

It needs to be empty NOW. Don’t show up to the Falcons game. Thats the only thing that these people care about.
That was exactly what happened in Denver during McDaniel’s second season and Hackett’s first — attendance dropped to really low levels, and both got fired before those seasons ended.

I’m confused, I don’t know that we had that many more injuries than we ever have in the past or more injuries than any other team this year. If these injuries are the reason for the bad play, doesn’t that also still point to coaching since the backups were not capable of holding it down? And if Carr was so beat up that that’s the reason he played like crp, than doesn’t that also speak to coaching because they played him over a healthy Taysom or Jameis? Doesn’t this all go back to coaching?

Not to mention, full starters regressed…which…you know…goes back to coaching.

It’s the coaching.

This just reeks of them having guaranteed him 3 years from the get go, wins and fans be damned.

This is 3 flat tires because the driver thought it'd be a good idea to drive through a construction site. We need a new driver while the car is still salvageable.

Great analogy, spot on.

I still haven't heard anywhere near a convincing argument as to why DA should be retained......if this organization is serious about winning and the future......

It will be just another wasted playoff less year.....also, you can't find the next good/great Saints HC if you aren't even looking for him.....

So is the new Saints standard that we must be 100% healthy or it's fine to stink?

As injuries go, we haven't had it that bad this year. We lost a starting CB and a second WR. Other than that, we were mostly healthy the entire season with a few bumps and bruises the last few weeks, but we had already cemented our suck by the time the injuries piled up.

Other teams have had far worse injury woes than us and performed better against tougher schedules.
To be fair I don't see any quotes with Gayle or Mickey saying injuries were a supporting reason. Could be speculation but it would not surprise me either way.

I haven’t seen a direct quote by either of them and this barring a debacle is an out for him to make up another lie in case he is fired.
They may keep Debbie but this click bait artist doesn’t know anymore than you or me. Probably less.

This “could” be simply an acknowledgment that no decent coach will come here in 24 with our cap space challenges and over the hill roster. She might as well publicly support the guy if it is inevitable that he comes back in 24.

The optimist in me wants to believe there is a plan to bring in a fresh staff and revamped roster in 2025. Of course, it will get very ugly in 2024, especially on SR.

This! You can’t mention Carr injuries when you resigned one of the highest paid back ups for a reason. If you aren’t gonna play the back up when the starter is “injured” don’t use the excuse later.

The Saints are just gaslighting us at this point!!!!!!

This franchise rewards failure, in the name of loyalty. Loomis is Fredo.

DA has the lowest win/loss (.324%) of any active head coach. DA is the 15th lowest HC in win/loss All Time!!!!

Just to put it into perspective. DA would have to go undefeated for 2 seasons, just to be above .500.

DA lost this team a long time ago, it is high time we stop pretending Loomis/DA are going to turn this team around.

Still no viable QB, LT, RT, and OC for 2024. Loomis better be a busy beaver next yr.

I can't remember the last time the Saints have been this healthy.

It really hasn’t- it’s been mediocre and sometimes for fans that’s worse
The counter is that it's only been mediocre because this is one of the easiest NFL schedules in NFL history.

This is a 4-5 win team against a normal schedule, and we've got a lot tougher than a normal schedule next year.

Regarding your notion that Allen is a caretaker to get out of cap hell, I would be okay with that if I saw us making moves to get out of cap hell. But we aren't, which is frustrating because we are wasting an opportunity to reset and prolonging the pain.

If that was their line of thinking then they wouldn't go out and buy a high priced engine (Carr) for the old car. You keep Winston and you have a ton of free money for years, can basically revamp your entire roster. Not to mention they spent a ton of money on restructuring old guys and their contracts to make them even more backloaded. They also wouldn't re-sign Jordan and add phantom years to contracts. If Loomis is trying to transition the roster he's doing a god awful job at it.
Actually pretty good point
My only response is that while Carr’s contract does seem like an albatross, I think it’s only one more year that he’s unmovable
It still kkiiiiinnndddaaaaaaa works with transition strategy
Not very well but ‘from a certain point of view’

I've been saying since the beginning of the season that no matter what happens this year, DA will still be HC next year and no one took me seriously.

Compared to previous years we didn’t have it that bad and compared to other teams we still didn’t have it that bad.

I swear they will try their hardest and make every excuse to retain Dennis Allen.

The only thing to make Mickey Loomis feel this is by hitting them in the pockets, maybe then that will force him to make a change.
