Rap: DA returning barring “debacle”, Gayle/Loomis commend him for “holding it together” citing injury excuses (1 Viewer)

The Saints are just gaslighting us at this point!!!!!!

This franchise rewards failure, in the name of loyalty. Loomis is Fredo.

DA has the lowest win/loss (.324%) of any active head coach. DA is the 15th lowest HC in win/loss All Time!!!!

Just to put it into perspective. DA would have to go undefeated for 2 seasons, just to be above .500.

DA lost this team a long time ago, it is high time we stop pretending Loomis/DA are going to turn this team around.

Still no viable QB, LT, RT, and OC for 2024. Loomis better be a busy beaver next yr.

Yup, IF they are claiming injuries as an excuse for this absolute train wreck of a season and plan to use any excuse to bring DA back for....reasons (laziness and complacency come to mind) they are playing all of us Saints fans for fools.....I can't believe there are still folks that support the notion and try to rationalize the thought of DA getting another year.....it's simply mind blowing to me.....

DA will be fired in 2024. This is a 6 win team next year at best. The schedule will be much tougher against the NFC East and AFC West that could see us 2-6. We probably play Minny, Rams, and Cleveland which sees us 1-2 if lucky. We will split the division. We won't hire a new offensive coordinator for 2024 because no one with a future wants to be tied to DA. With Peat and Erving FAs, Ram maybe done, and the IOL sub-par, there is a chance for an epic collapse next year with a sub 5 win season.

The only hope is that we hire a new coach in 2025 when we start to purge some bad contracts.
I enjoyed the Payton Brees Era especially because of the timing. It gave the entire community something to be excited about while they were rebuilding. I will always regret not being at the home opener against the Falcons when Steve Gleason blocked the punt!
There is an ebb and flow with teams. Look at how long it took for Miami to be a winning team after choosing Culpepper over Brees.

I’m confused, I don’t know that we had that many more injuries than we ever have in the past or more injuries than any other team this year. If these injuries are the reason for the bad play, doesn’t that also still point to coaching since the backups were not capable of holding it down? And if Carr was so beat up that that’s the reason he played like crp, than doesn’t that also speak to coaching because they played him over a healthy Taysom or Jameis? Doesn’t this all go back to coaching?

Not to mention, full starters regressed…which…you know…goes back to coaching.

It’s the coaching.

This just reeks of them having guaranteed him 3 years from the get go, wins and fans be damned.
It seems like we were the least injured in the last few years at least.

They swung for the fences but not only struck out they whacked themselves in the sack. It happens.

I don’t have a problem with that swinging for the fences approach really but they need to be honest that this season was a huge failure and it is not due to injuries. Allen just isn’t good at being a HC, PC needs Payton or Brees, and Carr took a big step backwards. Everything they tried failed.

Changes do need to be made or fans will be checking out big time. It’s one thing to lose but this team just plays ugly football right now. It’s painful to watch.

What is 3rd yr really going to tell us? DA has only beaten 1 winning team (Philly last yr.)

Coming soon to the New York Times best seller list:

“Holding it Together” by Dennis Allen

How to keep doing what you’re doing in the face of adversity.
Chapter 1 - Chopping Wood

It seems like we were the least injured in the last few years at least.
Doesn’t it? Especially the beginning of the year I feel like we were pretty lucky.

I think the injury references are really just about Carr, which makes this all feel like a play to exonerate both Carr and DA (and Loomis tbh). Throw in the inevitable firing of Pete and offensive staff and you’ve got the full picture on how they’re gonna try and gaslight us into getting excited about next year again despite DA being retained.

This is what happens when you become close personal friends with upper management and ownership and are considered family. You stop making decisions on results and come up with every single excuse to hold on to them. This organization is too comfortable with the personnel and accountability doesn't exists.

The counter is that it's only been mediocre because this is one of the easiest NFL schedules in NFL history.

This is a 4-5 win team against a normal schedule, and we've got a lot tougher than a normal schedule next year.

Regarding your notion that Allen is a caretaker to get out of cap hell, I would be okay with that if I saw us making moves to get out of cap hell. But we aren't, which is frustrating because we are wasting an opportunity to reset and prolonging the pain.
(Sorta parenthetical) Bucs are also a mediocre team - major difference is that Baker is performing way above his baseline and Carr is average or just below (Oline and OC are major contributing factors)
We’re mediocre bc a lot of other teams are mediocre as well

Exactly why the team and organization can't return to winning and competing for playoffs every year. Ownership and GM. Won't make the right moves.
Fall in love with coaches and players Won't do the right thing it's about winning and performance.
