Rap: DA returning barring “debacle”, Gayle/Loomis commend him for “holding it together” citing injury excuses (1 Viewer)

Nothing loveable about this team. I kinda can't stand them outside of a handful of guys
Well I have been a Saints since 1997. I was raised a Cleveland fan and stayed loyal to them until they snuck away in the middle of the night to become the Baltimore Ravens and then the Ravens won the Superbowl. I will never forgive Art Modell for doing that to loyal Browns fans
That said I had stopped watching football until I met NWSaint in 1997 that I started watching the Saints. The Browns are still my AFC team by default, I don't know if I would have an AFC team otherwise.

Expected. You don't pull the plug on a guy 14 wins into 2 years as a HC.

Single digit wins in two years - you make the call
1-3 win season - you likely make the call.
Middle of the road coach and season...back to back years - You wait.

Payton produced back to back mediocre seasons twice and a threefer once, 07-08 and 2014-2016. and Loomis repaid him with patience.

The misery is deep in this thread. For the sake of your health, stay away from the game day board!
Everyone should stay away from that dumpster fire even if the Saints are playing at a championship level

All the stuff we've learned about her aside, does anyone think Rita would have allowed this had she taken over the team as originally planned?
On the plus side with Gayle, she’s doing everything in her power to keep the Saints in Nola forever, based on the succession plan, no matter how bad we are over next decade we should be safe from losing the franchise through 2035. AND upon its sell after Gayle passes, nearly all that money (billions) is donated to Nola charities that could be truly transformational for the city in the right hands, especially with how the Nola economy is trending.

We all know that would never be on the table with Rita inheriting the team. So while we are terrible and ticket resales have never been so low post Katrina. Atleast we can rest assured that it’s going take a lot for us to lose the franchise.

I'm with those who say next year will be a wasted year with maybe 4 or 5 wins. At that point I would think DA would be let go but then it's years of rebuilding. At least the rebuild would be interesting and entertaining just for the uncertainty of it. Definitely more entertaining than this year was. I wish I could not watch the games next year but I'm too weak.

Oh no. I wasn't questioning that. It was a hypothetical if those issues with Rita weren't a concern.

Payton had won in the playoffs and then a Super Bowl when all that happened. DA has a complete losing record

I guess we aren’t interesting in winning championships anymore.

This is both a football and corporate blunder.
