RB Kareem Hunt visiting the Saints tonight; Saints also working out LB Anthony Barr (1 Viewer)

the reason why this is a good sign..

Vets that are looking for a ring will wait it out until a potential championship team comes calling. Around the league we must be viewed as a contender.

How many running backs do you think we will carry on the final 53 man roster?

We’ll carry four. During AK’s suspension, I can see the 4th RB being a practice squad activation for 3 games if Hunt’s signed. The main roster spot can go to a permanent depth player at another position.

How odd that people who think we're not perfectly fine at backer ignore the fact that we only signed a backer, when one of our existing backers got a season ending injury. Almost as if... we were fine at backer?
Only reason we in the linebacker camp worry about linebacker is because we KNOW that one or more of the backers we’ve had, will get hurt. Period. Point. Black. Happens every season.

None of us that I’ve seen have banged the drum for a linebacker to replace our starters. I know I haven’t. Nice try tho. 😉

We carried Deuce, Reggie, Pierre and Mike belll our Super Bowl year. Looks like we getting back to the roots of ground and pound. I’ll take it!
Lynell Hamilton was the actual active 4th RB in 2009 but mostly used on ST. Deuce was signed in the playoffs to be an honorary capt out of respect. We’ve always carried 4 RBs going back to ‘06. This time around we could be 4 deep of capable backs on offense and not carrying a 4th just for a ST role.

But, you do know that when the player gets injured, the team has a guy ready to step in? It's a depth .. chart.. And that's the time (not now, then) that they then go out to find the guy to become next in line at the requisite spot on the depth chart.

If we followed your logic, we'd need 20-25 extra players now, ready for 'when a Saint gets injured' at any position. Don't work, nice try though.

Also, I never mentioned signing starters in response to the "injured LB is inevitable" posts, so you may have been a bit confused on that one

Appreciate the clarification! I knew we had 4 or at least 3 for as long as I can remember lol.

Seems to me that he's not in the driver's seat @ this point and time. Training camps are almost done, and he's still sitting as a Free agent. If he keeps on turning down offers, he could be labeled and passed by
