RB Kareem Hunt visiting the Saints tonight; Saints also working out LB Anthony Barr (1 Viewer)

Seems to me that he's not in the driver's seat @ this point and time. Training camps are almost done, and he's still sitting as a Free agent. If he keeps on turning down offers, he could be labeled and passed by
Sounds like RBs need to unionize...they get used up fast cast aside and labeled when they want more.

- that's a joke...kinda.

Where does it say the role he’s seeking? Only thing I saw was that he’s taking his time and wants more than the 1.08mil vet minimum salary.

I would think the Saints would not have brought him in without a discussion of his expected role and range of compensation. Why waste everyone's time?

I’d rather have too many backs than not enough. Our successful teams carried 4 RBs.

2009
PT, Bell, Bush Hamilton

2011
Ingram, Sproles, PT, Ivory

We ran for over 2100 yards both of those seasons and nobody had 800 in either of them.

Kareem would be a great signing. He’s not as big of a drop off from Kamara as we would’ve had with Eno, and Kendra needs time to adjust to the NFL. Jamal and Kareem would be a good backfield for the 3 games Kamara misses, and it will be great when Kamara returns.

But, you do know that when the player gets injured, the team has a guy ready to step in? It's a depth .. chart.. And that's the time (not now, then) that they then go out to find the guy to become next in line at the requisite spot on the depth chart.

If we followed your logic, we'd need 20-25 extra players now, ready for 'when a Saint gets injured' at any position. Don't work, nice try though.

Also, I never mentioned signing starters in response to the "injured LB is inevitable" posts, so you may have been a bit confused on that one
Nah, just 10 or so.
And I’m not confused, I’d just like better depth there that’s all. I can appreciate that many others may see it differently. I feel the position is thin, you don’t, agree to disagree. 😊

& then you throw in Carr and the receiving corp ??.. as stated earlier, it's not even fair.. If the Saints aren't the #1 offense IF they sign Hunt then i'd say bye-bye to Pete and DC.. I mean to have AK, Hunt, Williams and Miller ??.. ohhhhhh the options, especially when AK gets back.. that's some serious talent right there kids..

NW.

remember that year when we had Ingram, Peterson, and a rookie for a few weeks into the season?
