Ryan Clark Calls Sean Payton a Thug (3 Viewers)

Around the time they fire him, maybe we’ll be out of cap space hell and we can start the whole thing over again.

Nice segment. It looks bad for Sean no matter how you spin it. Russ ain't Junior Galette, but this is the reality of the league and why players should push for guaranteed contracts.

I would give Denver back their second round pick to get Sean Payton back, but he wanted to leave. He will likely try to get a QB in the first round. I hope he trades up before the draft and somebody else trades up in front of him to get the QB he really wanted. At least that's what he will say three years from now.
I always said SP is a calculated individual. He has a plan in place. Plus, I’m sure after this Russ ordeal, he will be even more motivated to get back to the top of the mountain. Not sure too many players will want to play for him after this situation though. This is a big blow for him as a HC. Pretty grimy move although it is good for his team going forward.

Payton's arrogance was evident when he mocked the Vikings fans with the skōl chant. Karma bit him in the backside on the next play, and we all suffered.

Then they made a movie about him.

He's been an arrogant jerk for years, and I'm sure it contributed to his divorce. Maybe his ex was one of the few people who could keep him in check. I dunno.

All I can say is is that it's looking more and more like he's not the kind of guy I'd have a beer with.

One thing I forgot.

How did everyone forget about the ridiculous attitude and treatment Wilson got last season from the Broncos coaching staff?

It is entirely possible the majority of the locker room doesn't like Wilson and that could be another reason Payton and the Broncos are moving on. Seahawks players made comments about Wilson not fitting in when he was in Seattle, then he goes to Denver and the coaching staff puts him on a pedestal and gives him his own rules which caused locker room issues as well.

Brees' teammates openly cried when talking about how lucky they feel for getting to play with him. Ya'll think any of Russ' teammates will be doing the same?

Russ? If we are talking about him, it will be pretty interesting and because he is probably getting cut and we see how he has played the past 2 seasons, he will probably be pretty cheap for the next team. I honestly don't want him in Atlanta though...lol.
I rather have Russ than Justin Fields. With the weapons they've been accumulating, that offense could be dangerous with a better option at QB.

Personally, if the stories are true and Day 1 when the head coach wanted to get to know his QB an his QB said, only if my wife and agent can be there, it didn't start well. At the end of the day, whether the criticism of Payton is warranted or not, he is the boss. If Payton wants to bench his top dollar QB, then that is on him. Who knows what chemistry Wilson brings or if he has an intolerable Prima Donna attitude. There are a lot of dynamics at play. I do think the intial clip calling Payton a thug is kinda rough, but whatever, none of this is my beef. Not sure Wilson is playing very well, in which case bench him if that is your call. I hate the feeling that folks will attempt to play a race card here.

They plotted to bench him during the bye week. They still were in the hunt for a playoff push

They were 3-5 at the bye.
They just beat a team that they had not beaten in 13 seasons (KC). The season was a test run, and after they were out of contention, Sean ended the charade. It was a business decision that had very little to do with Russ's ability.
