Ryan Clark Calls Sean Payton a Thug (1 Viewer)

I always said SP is a calculated individual. He has a plan in place. Plus, I’m sure after this Russ ordeal, he will be even more motivated to get back to the top of the mountain. Not sure too many players will want to play for him after this situation though. This is a big blow for him as a HC. Pretty grimy move although it is good for his team going forward.
If it’s a financial move (not wanting to pay) and not a performance based move, wouldn’t that be on the GM? Payton may not have even been the one to make the call. He wasn’t the one who agreed to the terms in Russ’ contract.

This is nothing new. It’s how Sean Payton is. Great coach with a huge ego. It’s his way or the highway and he wants to set a tone. it won’t hurt Denver. He did the same thing when he first got to New Orleans. Dude got balls.

This is Sean Payton

Remember, that choke gesture was premature and the Vikings won anyway. Karma came for him.

Just a little less of the Alpha egomaniac would serve him better. He undermines himself in big moments. Maybe distracted by that wheelbarrow he needs to carry his testes around with…

Payton's arrogance was evident when he mocked the Vikings fans with the skōl chant. Karma bit him in the backside on the next play, and we all suffered.

Then they made a movie about him.

He's been an arrogant jerk for years, and I'm sure it contributed to his divorce. Maybe his ex was one of the few people who could keep him in check. I dunno.

All I can say is is that it's looking more and more like he's not the kind of guy I'd have a beer with.
The divorce was about uh…wandering eye…the Super Bowl went to his head…

Payton came in here got rid of the greatest Wide Receiver the Saints had up to that point because his whole plan to was to make sure everyone knew who the boss was. I mean that's a positive in my opinion... Although, I would rather have Horn be able to retire a Saint without having to be a Falcon first.
Colston clearly established himself as WR1 . In addition to Colston, the Saints were establishing themselves at the league's top offense with WRs named Terrence Copper and Jamal Jones during Joe's injury.

Let's not act like Payton immediately strolled in and drew a line in the sand with Horn (the way he basically did with Stallworth). It took a lot of things going right before that happened.

I was reading a lot of comments from different sites yesterday and I can see this turning out really bad for sean. Vets wont be happy with what he's done and there's a lot of different racial accusations being thrown about also. I can see him ending up in a position where free agents do not want to play for him.
In 16 years with Sean as HC I haven't heard any racial accusations. Where the hell did that come from?? What I do know is that he has already turned that sorry team around and those spoiled fans should be thankful. Yes, Sean is a thug (from a leadership style perspective), and he's a petty SOB tov boot. When has he ever given a damn about feelings? The only reason this is a surprise is because he is coaching a big market team and he's finally getting national attention. But we should know better. Sean wasted no time cutting Aaron Brooks and Dante Stallworth as well as several other popular players back in 96 in effort to mold his own team. That's exactly what he's doing now.

This is what people don’t understand. He’s an alpha in the mold of a Bill Parcells. You see these jokers now like the cat in Miami. Payton’s old school. He’s going to do what’s best for him and his team. Does not care one lick about an individual or their feelings or what the media thinks of him for that matter.
Miami is winning a lot and every player in that locker room loves being on that team.

You can have both, tough love ain’t the only love or we’d just call that love

It was against the Falcons and they did come back to win the game. It was in reference to the 28-3 game. It’s allowed and should always be encouraged.

I wouldn’t call Denver a large market.
And Payton was getting a ton of coverage while he was in NOLA.
His Jordan contract started with the Saints. And he’s the only coach to get contract.

SP's way or the highway.
The alpha wants to win and if ur in his way ur given the walking papers. Thumbs up

Clark owes Payton an apology for calling him a thug. Unprofessional.

Broncos are 1-3 in their last 4, squandering the win streak and making them a longshot for the playoffs. In benching Wilson, they are protecting $37 million dollars and not adding that $37M as a further sunk cost into a large failure of an investment into a player.

Russell Wilson is washed. He looks overweight, and his burst is gone, and with it the trademark craftiness.

Payton has babysat aging veteran star QBs his last 3-4 seasons, and as Clemms said, he's gonna urgently go get a young QB because he is driven to make a stronger case for Canton.

Wilson knew the deal with the season and the contract. It's year 2 of your deal, carry the team to victory now, or seeya.

I don't think Sean was offbrand in how he handled this, especially in his first season there. Biz is biz.
