Sounds like this is exactly what the contract ended up being. Makes sense.Almost sounds like effectively a 2 year/$70 million deal with injury guarantees and an out to restructure after 2 years. Maybe he is getting $30 million a year for the 1st 2 years with a $10 million guarantee in 3rd year if released (and 3rd year completely guaranteed at $40 million for injury). I just hope we were not dumb enough to give him a no-trade.
That's called Loominizing which is what people don't get....In 4 years 50 million a year for a QB isn't going to be that inflated........
Will be fun to revisit some of these sky is falling posts at the end of the season. This is what happens when you have a coach who knows he has to be competitive to keep his job. He wants to go 9-8 because if the Saints fire DA he won’t ever be a head coach again. I can’t wait to be mediocre.
If it is anything like 2021, Lutz better be on his "A game."Carr's a good QB and will be an asset to New Orleans. You'll win more games with him than you would without him. I think you could say the same if he went to any of the NFCS teams. I meant it when I said the Saints are now the division favourites.
That said, would I want him on the Bucs? No, not with that contract, and not this year.
In a word: spreadsheets. Signing Carr may have guaranteed that the Saints will let MT go purely for cap space alone, but who knows what'll happen with Loomis/Khai pulling the strings.I just still don’t know how they do it year to year!
im not so sure about that. TB12 noticeably regressed this year. IMO, Tampa would've been much more competitive w/ Carr or similar. I actually really like Trask, he's going to surprise people this year. He can make all of the throws and hes got good size. And he's competitive. (I wanted the Saints to draft him)Carr's a good QB and will be an asset to New Orleans. You'll win more games with him than you would without him. Well. I said I wouldnt be interested in training camp and I would not get the NFL gamepass this year. So much for that, haha.
And this is just the first shoe to drop. Wait til the draft and signing of UFAs kicks in. The Saints are back in the hunt.Well. I said I wouldnt be interested in training camp and I would not get the NFL gamepass this year. So much for that, haha.
