He won't be unemployed very long. He'll be hired as a DC or secondary coach somewhere soon.
Hopefully secondary coach. His scoring defenses were middle of the pact and his defenses created turnovers ranking was bottom 3rd of the league. Both are averages over the duration of time that he was our DC

We overrated him vastly as a DC

If you’re talking Michael Thomas, I am worried about his posts. Not this one but his many others. I hope he can get his act together and get over his bitterness and just start enjoying life.
I think his post were spot on. He dont even sound bitter at the saints he just dont like Allen and Carr. The fact that he even watches all the games and even sounds like a true fan upset with the results on the field says the opposite. To keep it real almost everything he said has been pretty spot on. Medical staff we had plethora of injuries. Since carr has been QB we been losing WR left and right. He said Dennis allen was soft almost ever star player has been underwhelming since DA took the helm. MT just a straight shooter and call a spade a spade/

while i hate to hear his dream of playing in NFL might be over, im hopeful, over time, he will appreciate walking away now, to maximize health and longevity.

too damn young to be worrying about brain issues.
Wish I could go into more detail but yeah, it isn't good. He needs to do whats best for him.

Great start. However, don't let this distract you from the real reason we are here, Mickey Loomis. For several years before Sean left he pushed DA as the heir apparent. Sean leaves, we'll leave that one alone, but instead of having a real interview process DA was pre-determined to be the hire. They pretended to interview good coaches, Brian Flores, Doug Peterson, etc. only to do what they had already knew they were going to do. He has completely ravaged the cap. He has completely screwed the pooch on the draft. He has been on the wrong side of trades, he has picked the wrong coaches, he has picked the wrong players in the draft, signed aging players to bad contracts, put void years after void years on top of already bad contracts so that the Saints are so far in cap hell it'll be 3 years before they can breathe, assuming it starts getting corrected now.

Mickey needs to be on the streets. He's in the will, make him some type of executive and give someone that knows football the ability to clean up what he's created. It's not just the Saints, the Pels are in bad shape too.

I agree, but Loomis may be the bigger problem,

He might and in that case, I hope Gayle will make every move necessary to get the team back on a winning track.

I think despite what some have decided about her, she understands the importance of the Saints to the city and the fans, and losing isn’t something she’s content with.

Loomis being the executor of Gayle Benson's will almost guarantees he doesn't get fired, not in the normal sense of getting fired anyway. More than likely he will move to a different executive role on the business side or he will be allowed to retire
That can easily be changed, so I don't see that having any bearing on the decision.

Shocked that it didn’t take longer! We are 2-7! Anybody think that we can play that much better to perhaps win 8 games straight! Rizzi will at least get some emotion from this team! We have improved over the last 2 weeks! I’m just not giving up on the season because I have seen some things but yet to see this! First time for everything! I can see this team giving us some enjoyment the rest of the way! They will play with nothing to lose! On to a brighter future!
The issue is that we’d almost have to go 8-0 just to be in the ballpark of the playoffs.

The only way we could win the division would be to finish with a better record than ATL - they are currently 6-3. We are four games behind in win column and four ahead in the loss column and we’d have to finish with a better record than them.

So we’d have to go at worst 7-1 and hope they go 2-6.

No way that’s happening in the really real world.

So it benefits us to keep losing and improve draft position while trading away anyone of any value.

Winning 5 or 6 of our last 8 would only prolong this purgatory
