Also, the assistants that are wanting to become head coaches now know for certain they will have a chance to come here and do things their way, to a point.

We are NOT a competitive job for top tier HC candidates.

We have: No cap space, aging roster, no young pro bowl caliber players, no QB for the future, and Olave might be retiring/one hit away from retirement.

We have many years of tanking ahead of us and need to find our Matt Pratica before we can find our Dan Campbell.

There are only 32 head coaching jobs, and despite what the outside says about our cap this is a team that's always proven to equip its coach with players to compete and there is talent on this roster.

Johnson's not coming here. This is not an attractive job for a top candidate. We have a bad cap, FO questions, and limited talent. I'm not saying we can't get a good coach, but we will not get the guy everyone wants.

She caught a lot of flack, but it was ultimately her who put Dennis on the guillotine. I'm curious about Rizzi though and to see if this team can get a grasp. I don't agree w/ those saying this is a bottom 5 roster. Hardly, but I do think it needs another 7-8 man draft class

We need a 2016-17 level reset

Things looked dire in 14/15 but 2 good classes that produced a dozen quality players.

Rizzi is a legit candidate. Several Dolphins players publicly supported Rizzi getting the job that ultimately went to Brian Flores. Players love the guy.

You have to wonder if Loomis was told he was going to be retiring at the end of the season.

Otherwise, Loomis is basically undermining the team owner, and for what, exactly? Loyalty to Dennis Allen, the losingest head coach of the salary cap era? But if Loomis were told today that in January, he would be retiring, then he has little to lose from the veiled shot at Gayle Benson.

And he has shown in particular that's he would rather stay in Detroit than be a HC in a bad situation.

Look the fact of the matter is we are not an attractive HC job for anyone. We will eventually find somebody but it's not going to be a top candidate.

He turned down HC offers last offseason. I don’t see why he wouldn’t turn down this job.

I think the people invested in worst case scenarios around here were those still defending and promoting Allen’s tenure as HC since the end of last season.

Now maybe they can let go of defending failure and deriding those not supportive of where Allen was clearly taking the Saints.
