He was good but not great. 3rd and long? Automatic first down. Want a free first down? Just chuck it down field and our DB will get a penalty. And our 2 minute defense was ALWAYS TRASH. I will die on this hill that he wasn't a GREAT DC.

DA was great until he needed to be great. At some point defensive breakdowns at the worst times go from being unlucky to an actual problematic trend.

Well it is deer season.

He's being sarcastic and making fun of the people who were being blatantly sexist about her ability to make football decisions due to her gender.

She doesn't know football. She can't make football decisions. This is a personnel decision with the evidence being all those L's.

Yeah great is Spags in KC. If chiefs have a lead late in the postseason only a great qb has a chance. Other than that, turn out the lights the party's over

Why would he want him? He has a better defense and better defensive coordinator than DA already.

Maybe we hire Vance Joseph as our head coach and then Payton hires DA as his DC?

I'm joking, but Vance Joseph is from the Wank and played QB at Shaw back when they were really good.

So Mickey Loomis still couldn’t pull the trigger after all of that. I’m glad Gayle got involved but I’m still concerned about the current GM and his decision making. It seems that we need a great head coach and QB combo to offset the GM’s gaffes.

Agreed. I think DA's time in the NFL has come to a halt. I see him in the college ranks next season as a linebackers or defensive backs coach. And not Georgia or LSU. More like a UTEP or USF type school.

I really think DA gets an NFL job next year. At worst a DB coach somewhere. He's a bad head coach and maybe only a good DC, but the dude can coach DBs.

I guess Spags is the object lesson though. Often times personnel is what makes a good DC a great DC. Sprags was terrible when he was here mostly because our personnel was bad. And that's kind of true right now. I mean, the truth is that the Saints have virtually no pass rush, our DTs are well below average and DA still managed to play good D. Yes, they have issues at the end of the half and at the end of the game, but a pass rush makes a lot of difference in those situations.

That being said, some of my issue with DA is that this year in particular he seemed to have lost all aggression. In the last few years when we weren't getting a pass rush he blitzed to compensate but he seemed unwilling to do that this year. It's kind of baffling. All he would do is the simulated pressure and then drop back.

And, of course, to the extent that our defensive personnel is bad, a lot of that falls on DA as the head coach.

He was a terrible, no good head coach in Denver. His press conferences were comedy legend and not in a good way.

This years defense lacked aggression and energy. That can help the defense to be decent. The NFL, especially on defense is very much an effort league

Yeah, I know. Which is why I said it was a joke. He may have learned from that experience and from working under Payton. But I don't want another retread as a head coach. The one exception I might make is Kingsbury but only because I think he was wrongly fired and he is doing a great job with Jayden Daniels.

Plus I've always been amused that a Louisiana legend QB at Shaw turned into a top defensive coordinator.
