I like that Loomis didn't say anything bad about DA. Even defended him. Says something positive about Loomis admist all the negativity.

Right, maybe that's because Loomis wouldn't have fired DA and likely would have kept him on in 2025.....at this point it's just curious folks would defend ML.....he's shown us who he is.....an egomaniac who was going to ruin the organization in an attempt to prove DA was the right hire.....it was so obvious at that disastrous PC last year......

I'm convinced we could have lost 10 straight and if it were up to Loomis DA would still be here....unless someone can produce evidence that says otherwise, I haven't seen any yet....

Pressure and stress caused an NFL team to fire their head coach, not his performance?

How is Saints PR allowing this to happen? That makes us look SO bad.
Pressure from the armchair GM mob he’s referring.

“It just gets right back to what stares at you right in the face is that we’ve had an abnormal amount of injuries, including to our quarterback, and we haven’t been able to overcome that, and so that puts pressure and stress on the organization and ultimately it was cause for a change,” Loomis said.

It's just wild that he's allowed to speak at this point. He's basically saying that the organization caved to public pressure instead of standing behind it being the right decision for the football team. That's absolutely unheard of. There's a classy way of saying that a coach isn't getting it done. You don't have to call him bad. But certainly you can be professional enough to say something along the lines of "we felt it was in the best interest of the organization to make a change at head coach" - it's really not that difficult. This dude is a PR nightmare.
You’re overthinking it, to create a stance, to back up your hatred for a man you’ve never met. How about quit imagining things, then assuming it’s true. Just wait for the facts.

If we were a larger market team he would absolutely get lit up for that quote by national sports media. Unfortunately the organization controls our local media, so he'll never get called on it. But it's really sad that he said that.
We be as stable as the Jets if the armchair mob ruled.

Hatred for a man you've never met? C'mon thats laying the drama on a bit thick.....I don't think anyone "hates" ML but a lot of Saints fans hate what he has done to this team the last 3 years.....

The facts to me are simple, we haven't sniffed the playoffs in 3 years and this year the wheels completely fell off.....

Right, but you know what’s happening. A firestorm is brewing as we speak, to pressure Gayle to fire ML. A firestorm fueled by lies and speculation. If the firestorm is true, then so be it. People need to form their opinions based from facts, not vain imaginations

Everyone high-fiving needs to take a breath. The real problem is still in the building. The quotes in this article from Loomis are the epitome of out of touch and delusional.

"New Orleans Saints general manager Mickey Loomis said in a radio interview Tuesday night there was “pressure and stress on the organization” to fire Dennis Allen this week and said that Allen remains a “fantastic football coach” despite his dismissal."

Making excuses "abnormal” amount of injuries that included starting quarterback Derek Carr. “That’s just the truth, and a lot of people don’t want to hear it,” Loomis said.

"Loomis did not indicate whether he agreed with the decision to fire Allen, nor was he asked whether owner Gayle Benson overruled him."

Loomis issued a staunch defense of the coach and said he would be "missed."

I expect nothing to change as long as this dude is still running things.

Mrs. Benson has some soul searching to do on this one. Clearly, Loomis is living in the past and is in denial of just how bad the Saints have fallen. A clean slate is needed, regardless of the pain it will cause fans for roughly three years. Payton and Brees made Loomis look like a genius.

And to those Loomis defenders, remember this: he wanted Deshaun Watson.

You can stomp your feet all you want at mickey's one liners but there's no need for mickey to throw dennis under the bus. Dennis got dealt a lot of crap circumstances regardless if he's really not cut out for HC spot.
He could have just said, "We had some tough injuries, but it was clear the team was not trending in the right direction. We thank him for his years and wish him the best. He's done some good things for us, but this is a tough league and sometimes a new voice is needed."

What evidence do you have that ML would have fired DA? Because to me, that's the height of speculation, making your premise above hypocritical at best.....

The facts that are plain to me are as follows:

1) ML hired DA, kept him around for 3 years, basically changing everything around him and ignoring his awful and obvious shortcomings
2) After last season, he held a PC that could only be described as an absolute clown show, comparing the now arguably worst NFL HC in history to some all time great HC's
3) He defended DA until the bitter end, and his boss (Gayle) had to step in to do the right thing and fire DA

And speculation, ML has an enormous ego and was dead set on proving that he was as responsible for the Saints success during the CSP era.....as CSP was.....
