Saints head coach Kellen Moore introductory press conference, media updates, February 13, 2025 (38 Viewers)

You’re over analyzing what I’m saying. I copy pasted the above from Google AI.
No, you're under analyzing all of this and debating with people that are posting real information with junk you copied and pasted from google and didn't even bother to check to see if it was accurate.

Yes Carr isn’t Joe Montana. And Carr isn’t our long term solution. But he’s the best that you can get until Rattler develops or some rookie in the draft surprises everyone. And not one NFL team is giving up a QB on their roster that’s better than Carr that we can get. And there’s no current free agents that are better. “We know what we have in Carr, 9 year sample bla bla bla”. That’s an opinion that came from paid actors that intentionally troll Saints fans for clicks. Seems only the paid actors and the gullible fans believe in it. The Actual pros and the coaches speak a 100% completely different story. Klint Kubiak said it’s why he chose to come here, to work with Carr. Moore also has a tremendous amount of respect for Carr. Detroit knew what they had in Matt Stafford, but yet he left a won a Super Bowl. Even the paid actor Matt Mascona, when questioned on his morning show, you know the guy that trolls bama is burning bama fans for delicious clicks. That guy, when asked by a commenter, when the commenter said, “how can you be such of good dad and nice guy but you are a complete butt crevasse on air?” His response, because my work personality is not me. Quit Parroting Paid actors opinions.

I don't listen to media personalities. I don't watch or listen to Mascona, he's cringe.

I'm capable of forming my own opinion. Carr is sometimes good, sometimes average, rarely ever horrific. He just doesn't fit the teams timeline. It wouldn't be wise for a first time head coach, walking into a situation where the roster needs to be rebuilt, to start an aging QB who has reached his ceiling in Derek Carr. The wise choice would be to see what you have with Rattler and assess from there. The kid got plenty of snaps in 2024. If Rattler shows that he's the guy (which I'll admit is a longshot), that's insanely good. Hit the lottery. If he isn't it, no worries - you'll land yourself a premiere pick. With said pick, you hopefully find your franchise quarterback to build around. It's a pretty proven formula.

Why would it make sense for a young first time HC, inheriting an aging roster that needs to be reset, to commit to an aging QB with no upside?

Carr is better suited on a team like NYG, where Daboll isn't getting another chance with a young QB, he needs to prove he can win now. Or Pitt, where Carr would likely be an upgrade to Wilson, and that team is wanting to contend. Not here.

That’s right, you’re one of those fan cap-olo-gists. Maybe Mickey should contact you first before he makes any moves. Quit acting like you know what you’re talking about and all of the cap manipulation. You’re a clueless fan like the rest of us.

What part of "Derek is a tremendous QB in this league. I have so much respect for him. The journey he has been on. He is a starter in this league. He is a premier player in this league. He has had a great journey. Going from Fresno State to the Raiders & now here. I'm really excited to team up with him."
Tells you that Carr is out

Probably the part where when asked if Derek Carr would be our starting quarterback about 10 minutes later, Kellen chose not to answer that question. It doesn't tell us he's out, but it doesn't tell us that he's in. He's going to make a decision. Mickey even said in his presser after the season that the new coach would decide on our quarterback situation. It is just simply not a lock that Derek will be here in 2025.

If you can't disprove anything I'm saying with evidence and facts, and you can't, then maybe you shouldn't run your mouth. You can talk about "actors", "gullible fans" and "fan cap-olo-gists" all you want, but without an original thought of your own you won't convince anybody.

What if Kellen Moore and Klint Kubiak weren’t lying? What if they were telling the truth, in that they respect Carr and are glad to be working with him? I’m going to go with what the pros say and not the paid media. And fans. Think about it, you’re a first time poker player, you have a choice of two personal counselors, are you going to choose the 9 year veteran poker player or are you going to chose a rookie counselor that’s never played a hand. Think if you’re KM, you want to win ASAP, regardless if Mickey says, “chill, you have 3 years”. Nah, he’s going to want to win immediately. Wouldn’t you rather have Carr, a vet that’s seen it all as your QB? Considering there are no other options except the draft. Or would you feel more comfortable with Rattler that flashed but clearly played like a rookie. It’s not common sense to gamble with your life, when you don’t have to.

I don't think you're reading my posts. I'm sure both guys respect the hell out of Carr.

In regards to rebuilding a roster, a quarterback like Derek Carr does not make sense.

Mickey even acknowledged, in his last presser of the season, that our new head coach would make the decision at quarterback. That tells you that at the very least, they're going to consider the options and make a decision. They may stick with Carr, or they might not. But they're going to think about it. I'd guess Mickey might be a paid actor, though.

I’m not getting into a cap debate. I was freaking exaggerating and like a pedantic goof, you decided to check my spelling and grammar. Now you know why no one invites you to parties.

We are not rebuilding. We are running it back and playing it by ear as we go. Didn’t you hear Km say, “I look for to going through the process with Carr”. What process do you think he’s talking about? The process of cutting Carr? No the process of building with Carr

I think it's a non-committal answer. Honestly, if it was set in stone that Carr is his QB, he would have said that. My guess is that he sees Carr as the QB for a year while he looks for and develops a young QB for the future.
But this statement
"Derek is a tremendous QB in this league. I have so much respect for him. The journey he has been on. He is a starter in this league. He is a premier player in this league. He has had a great journey. Going from Fresno State to the Raiders & now here. I'm really excited to team up with him."
Is not so non-committal. The " I'm really excited to team up with him " Is the telling part.

It's my guess that KM sees DC as a QB he can win with much like he did with Dak for right now, be that 1yr or 3. Until he finds the long term QB. I don't think there is anyone that thinks DC is a long term answer. I mean he'll be 34 this yr

Why would Mickey say that the new head coach would make the decision at quarterback, if this wasn't a thing? Those are words he actually said, since we're taking words at face value.

No, he's being honest.

It would be irresponsible and dishonest to say he knows what they're going to do. Because it would be irresponsible to have made that decision already when he's barely off the plane. Guys are asking questions that he's obviously not going to know the answer to, and if he DID know the answer, it would be very premature.

I think the process also entails the FO figuring out what is actually possible given Carr’s contract. If they can’t trade him or they can’t figure out a way to be cap compliant and give Moore everything else he wants without restructuring Carr, then Moore has to live with Carr on the roster. Why make that relationship worse by implying in any concrete way that he doesn’t want to work with him? This was a diplomatic response given the uncertainties around Carr’s contract and the QB options available.
LOL , or maybe it's just as simple as he said , he respects DC and is looking forward to working with him. SMH
