If i remember right, our cap situation is good in '27.Don’t judge him too much by next season. Patience is a virtue. It’s going to be rough. It needs to be rough. It’s a necessary part of the process. Give the man a chance to turnover the roster and rebuild this team. Progress in year 2. Compete in year 3.
I saw similar info on the spacing issues, and I thought about a post that I think you made about a lot of DC's being DB coaches by trade. Staley was a LB coach at the pro level, so maybe he doesn't quite grasp all the nuances of the coverage systems that Fangio likes to use. If he has a strong understanding of the finer details, maybe he doesn't know how to adapt the system to different personnel.I’m a/ you Roux. From a logical standpoint Staley makes so much sense. Former failed HC who is a disciple of the Fangio scheme. Likely won’t get poached for another HC job for a while.
However the research I did suggest he may not teach his scheme as well as Fangio does, and the spacing in his pass coverage concepts tends to put the secondary in bad leverage positions.
Or maybe the coaches he hired did t do a good job, and the Dline didn’t get enough b gap pressure to make the scheme come alive
Supposedly this was why his Chargers defense failed so much on 3rd downs.
I read where he mostly helped the 49ers Defense w/ their 3rd down packages so that may be a good place to start.
How good or bad were the 49ers on 3rd last year?
Well, we got that to look forward to.If i remember right, our cap situation is good in '27.
Oh, no.He arrives just in time for MardiGras.
Oh, no.
Similar but i must have forgotten when Joe Brady was a 4 yr starting QB in college, 2 x all american, 2 x qb of the year and spent 6 years in the nfl learning nfl systems and experience of being in the league under different coaches etc. Experiences and qualifications are vastly different yet some similar characteristics. And even Ben Johnson thinks another year wait can help his qualifications and readiness big time.I am saying I find it absurd to say Moore is some how less of a risk factor then Brady when all that separates them is 1 year in age and experience.
As I said I was fine with either Brady or Moore, I see them as comparable picks. Just wondering how you went from Brady being a huge risk factor, but OK with Moore when they are such similar candidates.
Who gets three years to compete? Two years to demonstrate growth at most. Fans will not tolerate two consecutive losing seasons.Don’t judge him too much by next season. Patience is a virtue. Correct, Homer! The Saints coach was born AFTER the first appearance of The Simpsons.
Compete was not in the quote.Who gets three years to compete? Two years to demonstrate growth at most. Fans will not tolerate two consecutive losing seasons.
