Okay with it... only thing keeping me from enjoying the new head coach is the same old GM

Similar but i must have forgotten when Joe Brady was a 4 yr starting QB in college, 2 x all american, 2 x qb of the year and spent 6 years in the nfl learning nfl systems and experience of being in the league under different coaches etc. Experiences and qualifications are vastly different yet some similar characteristics. And even Ben Johnson thinks another year wait can help his qualifications and readiness big time.
Man, I must have missed the part where being a great head coach had anything to do with playing in the NFL. Oh , that's right it doesn't. Most of the all time greatest coaches never played at the pro's and had uninspiring collage careers.

I mean lets look at Nick Sirianni's playing experience. You know the guy who is the head coach that just won the SB. He went to collage at Division 3 Mount Union. Played one year for the AFIL Canton Legends.

Sure him having some experience in the NFL as a player is a plus, but stop pretending like it put him light years away from Brady, there still very comparable coaches. Look if you think Moore is the better candidate I have no issue with that, I just don't agree with your narrative that Brady was anymore or less of a risk then Moore.

If i remember right, our cap situation is good in '27.
It’s good in 2026 too if we don’t go crazy with restructures.

Why do you care about Joe Brady so much?

"At the start of the interview process, it was important to find a head coach who was the right fit for the New Orleans Saints organization," said Owner Gayle Benson. "Through the search process, it became clear that Kellen is the right person to help us re-establish a winning program and culture that our fans are accustomed to and have come to expect. I would also like to thank Darren Rizzi for his service as interim coach and leading our team this past season. I am truly grateful to him."
"I would like to welcome Kellen Moore and his family to New Orleans," said Saints Executive Vice President/General Manager Mickey Loomis. "He is an outstanding communicator with the ability to lead people and has a clear vision for this football team. Through this head coaching search, we had the opportunity to meet with several impressive candidates and I thank them for their hard work and preparation in this process."
"I am excited to join the New Orleans Saints and deeply appreciate the faith that Mrs. Benson and the entire Saints organization have placed in me," Moore said. "I look forward to embracing the challenges ahead and am eager to get started. I would also like to thank the Philadelphia Eagles for an incredible 2024 season. I'm excited to begin this new chapter."

I estimate about 50 mil in cap space and about 20 roster spots to fill in 2026. Before we sign anyone this offseason anyway. So plenty of room to maneuver and a lot of work to do.

If nothing else, with a new offensive-minded coach, we should be fun watching Saints games again. Trying to win 17-14 every Sunday on a last second field goal counting on our defense to "hold" and going 3/15 on 3rd down conversions got old and boring very fast.

Gimme some games where our offense goes out there to win it, rather than hoping our defense can get a stop. (our defense hasn't gotten "stops" in a long time.

I'm actually excited for the first time since DB9 retired.
