Saints players and other key sports and public figures are angry at Drew Brees for his anthem comments (1 Viewer)

Not a smart move by Brees. Especially right now. It's not the time to alienate his black teammates and fans like this.

wow cool story bro I hope “fans” like you become falcons fans you deserve each other!

That doesn't make him any less a fan whatsoever. It's insulting to even say that to him. Disliking a player on your team because of actions you find offensive does not make you less of a fan. If anything it makes you an adult. Being a fan of a team does not mean you have to lap up and love everything the team does or the actions of every individual on a team. Honestly, i think your statement is just offensive.

I thought Drew stated his opinion very respectfully, and it was clear that he is in favor of working toward solutions to any issues we have as a society. He just happens to believe that standing for the anthem is a way of demonstrating that despite our differences, we are unified as Americans.

I am not buying this mentality that it doesn't matter if one is as respectful as Drew was, it is of no consequence if you don't like his opinion.

Huge overreaction, but I suppose that is the point. Make people afraid to say anything at all that is not approved.

You don't kneel to the National Anthem, you stand straight and tall and face the Stars and Stripes, with your right hand over your heart(optional) or at attention with a "salute"
as military members do.
I side with Kappernik on the unjustified treatment of black Americans by some terrible people who happen to be officers of the law, but at a NFL game it's not the proper stage
to be defiant even though many have and will continue to do so, hand-in-hand including players of every skin color and their coaches, especially this coming season because of
all the ungodly recent events.

I'm sure DB has no real argument with MT nor does MT with Drew. IMO

Can someone explain this to me ???
White people make up 61% of the country. They will get killed by police more because their just so many. Black people make up 13-14% of the country but are killed by police 28% of the time. It’s disproportionate. Congratulations I just explained statistics to you.

A military soldier literally told Kap to kneel as that was more respectful of the flag that just sitting on the bench. Jesus do y’all even do any research?

As a black man, during these crazy times and he says that? Nah screw Drew Brees. He’s dead to me and I can’t wait until he’s gone from this team.
I don't agree, He is my favorite qb of all time and he does more than anyone for our city. I want him to get educated on the reason for all this. I literally changed the way a racist felt about our struggle by teaching him. He was from Arkansas and served with me in Alaska. I didn't attack his beliefs, I explained mine and he did the hardest part, listened. Drew ain't a racist. He is very unaware

Overreaction bro. He is still My QB because football is a job and he ain't say anything racist. He just has his opinion on the flag that carries more weight for him because of his family's service to country. The title is right. he needs to talk to his teammates effected by this current tragedy and gain more understanding of their reasoning for kneeling.

Yes he does and so does Cam and Emmanuel Sanders. The black members of this team are pissed.
