Well...

Simoneau is a great BACKUP...he will probably be our main sub at MLB/WLB. He can also play ST as well.

Young, he can rush the passer but from what it seems of his salary, that looks like starting money.

Not really, but he does have value as a starter in the league. He'll probably be our starter next year. I'm surprised he didn't try elsewhere for a longer deal; it'll be interesting to see how much is guaranteed.

Well, if he beats out someone for their position, most likely Scott Shanle, than I don't see how you would complain. If he wins the training camp battle at WLB, do you still bench him because people don't like him?:dunno:

Simoneau is essentially a replacement for Dan Morgan and Zach Thomas. In otherwords, he's the healthy "plan B" for Vilma. Which is fine.

Brian Young was still effective when healthy. He has a place in our defensive line rotation even if we ultimately upgrade the position.

As a starter I can understand your feeling, but as a backup and quality special teams player I don't mind having him on the team.
