I agree, we do not have a stable of proven players at tightend or wide receiver. Outside of New Orleans no one would put our group of tightends or receivers in their top ten let alone number 1.You are talking as if our depth is so proven! Lmao. Dude I want the Saints to kick butt and our offense to thrive too and for Juwan and James and Keidre and Shaeed to blossom but it's ok to admit you're bias lmao.
Go on NFL reddit or something and ask fans who aren't in a black and gold bubble to rank the best overall corps of pass catchers in the NFL
How can you really count Washington, Edwards and Perry at all yet? And MT is no given base on the last 3 years. He’s right. Have you seen the rest of the Dolphins, Bengals and Eagles’ WRs at WR3-WR5?
So you would take (Bengals) Tyler Boyd, Stan Morgan, Trent Taylor, (Dolphins) Chosen Anderson, Berrios, Cedrick Wilson, (Eagles) Quez Watkins, Zaccheaus, Tyler Cleveland,
over Michael Thomas, Washington, Edwards and Perry?
That’s some of what he meant by stable of pass catchers. The entire group.
Based on talent and experience. The same can be said of how could receivers in those other teams’ WR groups be counted during the offseason while some are returning from injury and battling with incoming players. Previous production and talent is all to go off of.How can you really count Washington, Edwards and Perry at all yet? And MT is no given base on the last 3 years.
They’re not even close to similar players. Thomas is 6-3, Washington is 5-11.There’s a reason you heard Dennis say yesterday MT had hardware removed from his foot a week ago and this happens today. I’m not the only one that doesn’t expect him to take a snap next year. You don’t bring in Edward’s, Washington and move up to draft a WR and add a priority free agent and essentially only lose Jarvis from the lineup. The restructuring was more about cap space than it was with the anticipation of him actually playing this year.
Agreed. Same problem Belichick had with Brady. And then Brady got sick of it.Hubris was Sean's greatest flaw. He knew that Drew could get the job done with just about anyone and never really gave him top-flight weapons till MT.
Agree . Pitt hasn’t had very good QB play last few years and he was injured last year so we have yet to see what he can do with good to great QB.There was a time when I was very optimistic about his career. I thought he just needed a chance. He’s yet to blossom, but he has displayed some impressive skills at times. Hoping for the best. Sounds like a low risk, high reward kind of signing. I’m all for bringing competition to the WR room.
Perry is a 6th rounder who has not touched an NFL field. MT coming off of 3 years of injury and Washington is a street FA coming off of injury and never having a season with more than 44 catches. Edwards is coming off of a year with 3 catches. They all have potential to have good years, but I think you are looking through black and gold colored glasses to rank so many unknowns so highly. Hope you are right.Based on talent and experience. The same can be said of how could receivers in those other teams’ WR groups be counted during the offseason while some are returning from injury and battling with incoming players. It’s a given that MT may not play a whole year which is why I firmly consider him our WR3 now. It becomes a lot of over-hypotheticals and second guessing for argument while it’s apparent which Overall groups are better on pure talent and production
Edward’s is 6’3, Perry is 6’4, Davis is 6’4. But also, you don’t have to be the same height to fill a similar role. It’s a combination of all of them to a point regardless. They’re not even close to similar players. Thomas is 6-3, Washington is 5-11.
This has nothing to do with MT. It’s a cheap flier on a player who has struggled with injuries.
There’s no black and gold glasses when just comparing who are better WRs between specific teams, not all teams. An earlier post said we have the best. A reply to that, which began this discussion, singled out certain teams and I pointed out they’re better than those teams’ WR3-WR6. It wasn’t I who said The best. If we broke down the WR3-WR6 of the Dolphins, Bengals and Eagles, we’ll come up with those same flaws and uncertainties with lesser talents/less productive players.Perry is a 6th rounder who has not touched an NFL field. Hope you are right.
@B_doggman47 I promise you dude, I PROMISE it's ok if some people don't think the Saints skill players are God's gift to skill players. Giving a Godell clown to that post is so stupid lol. But I guess peak fan optimism means no one is allowed to not heap the praises of our team.I agree, we do not have a stable of proven players at tightend or wide receiver. Outside of New Orleans no one would put our group of tightends or receivers in their top ten let alone number 1.
You said the signing of Washington wasn’t a coincidence relative to what DA said about MT.Edward’s is 6’3, Perry is 6’4, Davis is 6’4. But also, you don’t have to be the same height to fill a similar role. It’s a combination of all of them to a point regardless.
I know it’s early, but like many I have us goin 10-7 this year. N I did NOT include MT in my prediction.Based on talent and experience. The same can be said of how could receivers in those other teams’ WR groups be counted during the offseason while some are returning from injury and battling with incoming players. Previous production and talent is all to go off of.
