Spencer Rattler’s first start was… (16 Viewers)

Whatever that was in the second half, I don’t want to see that anymore.

But that first half? THAT was incredible. More of that please
It’s called having no support. I appreciate Bub Means effort but we had no receivers. O line suspect and can’t run block or pas block very long. Horrible in blitz pick up.

I thought he did well given the talent around him. He couldn’t win the game on his own, but he didn’t lose it for us either.

I want to see more.
He was the bright spot. He will only improve and get better.

I dont care if Carr is the better qb at present. He is at his celing. Saints are not making the postseason, it make no sense to waste the rest of it on Carr.

Benching CARR isnt a condemnation on him. He has only next year at most in NO. The Saints need to see if Rattler is the future and get him those live reps so he can develop

It liteally was like trying to create oa Apple I Phone from old spare parts and some bamboo.

Quintessential Rattler. Showed elite arm talent, and felt real comfortable outside the pocket. Bowles adjusted in the 2nd half keeping him in the pocket and making him make quick decisions so he reverted to the tentative indecisive QB that scouts saw in college a lot. Very unfair however to judge him harshly based on what he was facing. I’d give him a grade of C+

Agreed on all accounts.

Carr can do roll-outs with single and two-stacked reads. He's done many this season. I'm not sure why you guys are suggesting he can't.

Rattler wasn't out there scrambling like crazy and making guys miss. He had a few good scrambles up the middle for relatively short gains, but I did not see a guy who is going to win games with his athleticism. He's going to need to develop into a passer who can take advantage of his big arm.
Rattle reminds me of Winston a lot more than he reminds me of Mahommes. He's got the same strengths and weaknesses that Winston has.

On the plus side, he's got a strong arm, can occasionally make an incredible throw, and can occasionally scramble for a good run. On the negative side, his ball placement accuracy is inconsistent, he doesn't see open receivers right in front of him or he ignores them to make a riskier throw, holds onto the ball too long waiting to make a big play, and has at least as many bad scrambles as good ones while being a little too quick to scramble at times.

All of that could improve or get worse. Only time will tell. An NFL QB needs a lot more than a strong arm, confident "body langauge," and the "it" factor to be successful. A lot of strong armed, poised and confident QB's have been unsuccessful in the NFL.

Haven't read the rest of the thread but I thought he looked good. Not perfect but good enough.

We got exactly what i thought we'd get. About 55 percent completions, one td and two ints.
Which (if we’re being honest with ourselves) is on par with what we would have gotten out of Carr today.

He looked more like a vet not having his best game rather than a rookie starting his first game.
Stop it!!

He looked just like what he is. A rookie playing in his first NFL game!

I like the kid and want him to be the next greatest thing for the Saints but he didn't bring his big boy rattle with him today!

I was at the game and Rattler looked pretty good. Losing Olave early hurt bad. Idk what happened to the defense, but they suck. The Bucs took their manhood in the 2nd half.

Honestly Kubiak needed to do a better job having some options for him against the blitz. I didn't see much of an adjustment. I think the plan was to run to stop them from blitzing and when that didn't work, Kubiak had no counter.
Where were the stretch plays? Mobile QB in this system with stretch play support would kill. But we didn’t call it. And kept calling first down play action boots… 🤷🏻‍♂️

His biggest flaw today was not having Shaheed’s timing down. That seems to be the only thing I would prefer Carr to him over.

Imagine a healthy Oline and Taysom. Really opens this offense up with his ability to roll out of the pocket.
LOL imagine a healthy OL and Taysom with DC @ QB ,,,,,,, oh wait we had that the 1st 2 games of the season SMH
