Stevie Ray Vaughan is the G.O.A.T. Change my mind (2 Viewers)

Wait. None of youse guys mentioned Clapton? The guitar God? Or Hendrix? What is wrong with y'all? At least y'all got Satriani.

Hendrix has been mentioned. This is the song that killed God. Clapton was considered God until Jimi came along.

Clapton could never master this.

I never cared for Clapton. I never got it.

Jimi was a great.

Eddie is my guitar god.

I would argue that no one ever influenced more guitar players than EVH.

For good and bad.

I Want You was great. The cutoff was genius.

But come on, even John and Paul were impressed with "Something".

It’s a great song, but Martin’s overblown production buries the progression, which is the genius of the song. The demo version on Anthology 3 is the better listen.

My Sweet Lord.

I'm not criticizing George. He wrote the two best songs on Abbey Road.

But Paul was and is a better musician.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree. I don't love Paul that much. He is great don't get me wrong.

Actually I don't love much that any of them did separate.

I like all things must pass better than any other Beatles post Beatle work.

Was never really impressed with wings. I guess juniors farm is my fav.

I personally love Harrison written songs. Tax man, something, here comes the sun, Savoy Truffle about Clapton's fancy chocolate problems, piggies, and it is all to much. I can go on and on.

Heck badge is my fav cream song.

Oh and on another note how many great songs were written about Pattie Boyd?

Lord knows what we missed out on because of that sheetty law suit?

I think Jimmy Page was more influential among guitar players than EVH. Of course, I might be wrong.

Maybe you're not.

It's subjective.

I would say that most wannabe guitar players that heard EVH tried to imitate him.

All of the Hair Band's guitarists were trying to play his solos in the eighties.

Page was incredible. So was Hendrix. Stevie Ray (his influence was Hendrix) also.

But EVH was a Mozart that people tried to copy (and usually failed).

You think Martin's production was overblown.

Did you hear what Phil Spector did to Let It Be?

Ahhh so many guitarists so little time. To me SRV, Hendrix, EVH are slam dunkers.

Carlos Santana
