Will keep posting. We weren't as bad as our record, we just lacked a middle class to sustain us during the injury fiasco. You can start to build up a middle class in this draft, but as far as talent...this is a top heavy talented team.

Being top heavy with lots of poor depth makes us exactly who our record says we are.

Not to mention those top heavy guys are well past their primes and only getting older.

I think Johnson is an average pass catching TE with some upside. I'd rather have paid less for him on a 2 year deal instead of 3, but I do think the reactions to this are kind of over the top. He was likely the best FA TE available. It's obviously a weak group but we either had to sign one or go into the draft needing to draft 2 TEs. I think this is a good TE class but it's never a good idea to go into a draft being forced to draft a position much less being forced to take two players at the position. You just never know how the board is going to fall and it could force you to reach for one or both.

That’s the quietest 50catch, 500yard season i can remember. Those numbers are actually quite good. Dont know if there 10mil a year good, but if Juwan could put up those numbers on top of what a healthy Olave, Shaheed, AK & whoever else we end up bringing in (hopefully TMac) can do, that would be all good to me. Would love to see Juwan double those TDs, but w/a healthy receiving corps, 50 catches, 500 yards is respectable for a TE1.

If I remember correctly a lot of his catches came with Rattler throwing to him too.

In all fairness, the TE free agent market is very weak and the draft is deep at TE. Most teams will not overpay FA TEs this year.

Loomis made the comment to the press during the combine that TE is on the list of 25 musts, twice. Drafting a TE in the first few rounds would still be the right move.
