Teams calling the Saints about Lattimore; Commanders, Chiefs, Chargers, & Ravens are legitimately interested & actively bidding (1 Viewer)

Notice the number of draft picks the Chiefs have available, yet their roster is packed with high quality players. That’s been the key to their success all along. They hit on players all the time.

Teams like the Saints keep trading away picks with questionable results. And now we reached the point where we need to do a total rebuild of the franchise.

Unfortunately a trade to the chiefs is going to be at the very end of whatever round they trade.

Trading him is part of the start to the rebuild, and he has been injured or checked out since before this season. I wanted to trade him last season. He’s one of the only players we have with real trade value. And we need to start selling players before they are washed up.

Hanging onto and paying aging and declining players is what got us to where we are now.

I was just thinking he can’t leave because we just drafted him.
Then I realized 2017 was seven years ago…

Lattimore could go down as the best Saints corner of all-time, but the season is essentially over and all signs point to this team doing a full rebuild sooner rather than later, i think a 3rd round pick and maybe a player (OL depth perhaps) is a more than reasonable trade the Saints should pull the trigger on.

I don't understand why we should rely on DA to speak to this. Trading away key players is essentially a concession that the season is lost. And a coach in DA's position isn't exactly ready to admit that reality, given his own [what would seem to be] tenuous status with the team.
