Texas, the new Florida (1 Viewer)

Yep I posted something similar in another thread about this happening in my neighborhood. A guy went off about having a gun and his right to use it to protect his home. Especially from 9-10 year old dingdong ditcher. Similar reply that this is not how stand your ground works, that he was would go to jail for murder. He didn’t care, warning parents to keep their kids from his home. All of this because a 9-10 yr old knocked on the door and ran away laughing.

Just another good guy with unfettered access to guns in TX.......

Texas authorities are baffled after finding six cows dead with their tongues cut out and jaws sliced with surgical precision on the side of a highway.

The Madison County Sheriff’s Office was first alerted to the bizarre deaths last week when ranchers reported finding a mutilated six-year-old longhorn-cross cow near State Highway OSR.

The animal’s tongue had been removed with surgical accuracy and “no blood spill”, the sheriff’s office said in a statement on Wednesday. The hide on one side of her mouth was also removed through a “straight, clean cut, with apparent precision”.

“It was noted there were no signs of struggle and the grass around the cow was undisturbed. No footprints or tire tracks were noted in the area,” officials said……

Their tongues were cut off, but there was no spilled blood. No signs of struggle. No footprints or tire tracks were found. Investigators were stumped: who is going on a murderous rampage of cows in Texas, and how are there no clues surrounding their deaths?

It seemed a scene straight out of The Secrets of Skinwalker Ranch, the reality TV show on the History Channel about the Utah ranch that is supposedly the site of unexplained supernatural phenomena.

Across three Texas counties within the span of a few weeks, seven cattle were found dead under the same suspicious circumstances: lying on one side with the mutilated part of their face exposed, minus a tongue.

The cow-killing spree happened Madison, Brazos and Robertson counties – all located in east-central Texas. Each cow was from a different pasture and herd.

“A straight, clean cut, with apparent precision, had been made to remove the hide around the cow’s mouth on one side, leaving the meat under the removed hide untouched,” the Madison county sheriff’s office said.

“On two of the five cows, a circular cut was made removing the anus and the external genitalia. This circular cut was made with the same precision as the cuts noted around the jaw lines of each cow.”

Ranchers reported no predators or birds had scavenged the remains, a common theme in similar killings.

The official cause of most of the cows’ deaths is still unknown, but the freakish events have sparked memories of a long-held conspiracy theory about the mysterious deaths of livestock animals dating back to at least the 1970s in the US that lays the blame at the feet – or tentacles – of aliens in UFOs.

Back then, scores of animal mutilations across at least seven US states triggered a bout of speculation that outer space visitors were attacking – and sampling – earthly animals. Others thought it was all a part of a ritualistic killing……..

woman has shared how she was asked to complete her husband's DoorDash order, despite being with him in the emergency room.

DoorDash is a U.S. based online food ordering platform that connects customers and local restaurants. Orders are passed to DoorDash drivers, independent contractors who fulfil orders delivering from restaurants to customers.

When Miranda's husband got into a car accident while working his DoorDash job, she was shocked by the company's reaction.

On April 15, the Texas-based DoorDasher got into a car accident while working and was rushed to the hospital.

"I was at work running my shift when I felt my phone go off," Miranda told Newsweek. "I thought it was my boss calling me but when the store phone rang my coworker handed it to me and saying it's urgent."

On the other end of the phone, Miranda was told that her husband had been in a car accident. He was ok, but their car was completely destroyed.

After arranging cover for her own job, she got a ride to the hospital. "I was so stressed because even though I was told he seemed fine, I had to see for myself to make sure. I cried so much because I was so worried about him. Seeing him on a stretcher just made me break even more," she said.

Thankfully, none of the people involved in the accident were seriously hurt. While the couple were waiting for the doctor, he realized that the DoorDash order was still in progress.

"[He] freaked out," said Miranda. "He tried canceling it but he was all over the place and he didn't know what to do. I tried helping and accidentally called the customer but I let her know anyways what happened. I found a contact support button and it gave me a bot and after clicking the option to cancel, it said I was connected to an agent."

In a screenshot of the conversation, Miranda told the DoorDash support worker that her husband was in the emergency room and she wasn't sure how to cancel the order.

The support worker replied: "Too bad to know about the situation. Will you be able to complete the order?"

"I honestly let out a laugh when I was asked if I could deliver the food, I showed my husband and it cheered him up a bit funnily enough," she said. "Honestly it didn't surprise me but at the same time my husband and I both had a 'are you f****** for real' kind of thought in our head."…….

A Texas woman was shot in the head and killed after her husband “flipped off” a gunman who launched a fatal road rage attack against them and fired several rounds into their minivan.

Paola Nunez Linares, 37, suffered a gunshot wound to the head during the shocking incident in Hurst, Texas and later died at John Peter Smith Hospital in Fort Worth.

Investigators say that the victim’s husband, Zane Jones, told them they were shot at as he was driving their maroon 2017 KIA minivan north on East Loop 820 when they were “involved in a road rage incident” with the other motorist.

No arrests have been made in connection with the case and investigators are looking for a small, older model car of dark colour.….

When that story first came out up here in DFW, I sent it to my 2 sons and said, "this is yet another example of why it's not worth road raging over anything. There are armed lunatics out there driving around."

Road rage is horrible out here. I'm sure it is everywhere, but I don't recall it being this bad in DFW- and I've been here since 1991.

It's gotten worse. But there's a lot more people living here now, and road construction is everywhere. On my work/home commute, I drive a good length of Plano Pkwy and parts of it have been under construction since 2018. Construction is making various lanes closed where you need to get out of one lane, only to find it blocked off a few miles down, and some lanes are reduced from 3 to 1. Sometimes I think this is some sick psychology test to see how far driver's can be pushed.

I agree that population growth, construction, etc. is a factor in all of this- but I will say that COVID lockdowns and the tension created as a result of inflation/economy, politics, and all of the usual culprits may be contributing to some having a very short fuse. It doesn't take much to set people off this day and age.

BTW, I don't think the perp/perps in this shooting have been caught yet. Have you seen any more news on this?

No suspects yet unfortunately.
