Florida doesn't have laws that protect people that are arrested from being publically humiliated. Louisiana just made that law stronger to stop PDs from blasting people all over media after arrests. The only reason "Florida Man" exists is because of that lack of laws protecting you until proven guilty. I guarantee there is Louisiana Man, Texas Man, New York Man, California Man.... etc etc etc.

I’ve also lived in both places (Houston and the Bay Area)

I think the food was better on average in Houston. I guess that’s why they’re so fat … Bay Area just has so many places that were just totally bland but for some reason remained in business. Houston on the other hand, this was much more rare as the population actually had taste buds. I could notice the difference even in say, like the hospital cafeterias… Also I thought the food stores were better in Houston (HEB, etc.). The steaks in the Bay Area were a disaster unless you went to an upscale place. OTOH good sushi and Mediterranean places If you went to the right ones…

I liked the cleavage that women in Houston were almost obligated to show in the summer

California people were on the most part not unfriendly, like the snobbishness you get in the East Coast ... OTOH there was a bit of a crazy factor you had to get used to …

The landscapes could simply not compare …. of course in the city you don’t notice it quite as much, but bayou areas were ugly, less places like that in the Bay Area

I’ve lived in many places and traveled/toured quite extensively- the snobbiest people I ever met/lived among were Texans (north Texans specifically)
