The Electric Vehicle (EV) discussion thread (Merged)

This is not vandalism. It is not drunk teenagers . It is actions with only a single intent, to disrupt and intimidate Elon Musk from performing the actions assigned him by the duly elected President of the USA. That is NOT vandalism, it is domestic terrorism. It even could be framed as insurrection. I do not care at all if they want to reister a protest, take up signs and sing songs or whatever. No more attacking people, destroying property and setting stuff on fire. I do not see how anyone can defend this.
good luck with that seeing how this admin said it was ok to do that in the Capitol and be declared a patriot. If every single person who entered the grounds on J6 wasn't charged and convicted as a domestic terrorist, then someone vandalizing a Tesla sure in the heck isn't..

but maybe you don't know what the defenition of vandalism is. do you think vandalism is from just drunk and dumb actions? usually vandalism stems from some type of revenge or becuase they have something against or don't agree with something someone said or did.
do you think EVERYONE who commits any form of vadalism should be charged with domestic terrroism or just the ones who vandalize the stuff of the people you align yourself with?

There is no way you can seriously frame this as as domestic terrorism, never mind insurrection. These actions are vandalism with a political motivation like me drawing a mustache and glasses on a Trump poster.

If these actions were determined to be insurrection, then the Tesla owners would not be able to look to their insurers to indemnify them, as damages due to "civil unrest, riot, or insurrection" are almost always specifically excluded in an insurance policy--IIRC from my claims adjuster days. @efil4stnias can speak to this

I'm going to bow out of any further reply lest this get too political.

This is not about 1/6, you are deflecting. What is happening to peoples cars in parking lots, to dealerships, to charging stations is just wrong. Our society cannot continue like this. We have to have standards of what is right and wrong and how we can resolve our differences.
if people can burn crosses in peoples yards and nazi's can spray paint swatztika's on peoples property or people can hang nooses on peoples property and not be charged with domestic terrorism, then someone slashing a Tesla tires for sure shouldn't..
you would never ever find a jury that would convict someone who vandalized a Tesla with domestic terrorism..

deflecting?

here is what you said: " It is actions with only a single intent, to disrupt and intimidate Elon Musk from performing the actions assigned him by the duly elected President of the USA"

How is that ANY different than insert "VP Pence" for Musk and "Constitution" for President of the USA.

GTFO with this deflection. You are trying to frame acts of vandalism as some sort of insurrection?
puhlease.

Go look up the definition of vandalism.

its different because one action he was ok with, the other action is one he is not ok with...

Nobody arguing with you about that. Yes, we should have standards regarding what is right and wrong. We should also have standards between what is actual domestic terrorism or insurrection(!) and what is garden-variety vandalism.

EDIT: Never mind. A bunch of people above me made the same point. But that *should* stop and make you think.

Just goes to show you we live amongst some very mentally disturbed people. This shows how much our society has broken down when the ability to agree to disagree is lost. I can disagree with you and still go about it in good faith. If Elon lives rent free in your head to the point you decide to attack peoples property or business or charging stations, you should be put into a mental facility and never let out.

Intimidate Elon Musk? Should Elon also be charged with domestic terrorism? He intimidates on a scale far larger than all those combined.

Or maybe it should just be treated like it is.

i love this way of thinking..
attack actual people because you disagree with them, it shouldn't be a hate crime, it's just a regular crime.. attack someone's property, it's not a regular crime, you should now be a domestic terrorist and put into a mental facility for the rest of your life.
in this country when you want more justice over property than you do over life says all e need to know..

IF the motivation of these specific attacks are saying "If you own a Tesla or a cybertruck or own a dealership that sells these vehicles its FAFO for you at your own peril." I would say that IS trying to incite terror on some scale. If I owned either of these absurdly priced vehicles, I probably wouldn't want to drive them right now.

There is a difference in boycotting products because you dislike the CEO of the company that makes them. Its a whole other animal to straight up vandalize and cause potential life threatening violence by firebombing a dealership where you have no idea if people are inside because you have a political disagreement. FAFO is 100% fine with a non-violent boycott.

And yes, rubbing feces on someones car or scratching their vehicle, or worse because of "muh politics" is a MENTAL ILLNESS.

it's also a mental illness to get in front of a Tesla or other EV with your truck and do the rolling coal or what ever it's called and continuously harass them while driving. but that was just cute and funny even though it caused accidents.. that is also a form of terror, but i don't ever remember anyone wanting them charged with domestic terrorism..
you are blind if you don't think lots of people with EV have been harassed age terrorized by others. but now it's OMG!!! from the other side..
